Talking about letting go and letting God.. 😮‍💨👇🏽

I’m Lakshana — a licensed hairstylist for 10 years and former owner of a successful salon in Rotterdam, where I worked as a curly hair specialist for 4.5 years. In December 2024, I closed my salon and in February 2025 I moved to Manchester for love and a new chapter. At that time, I had no plans to reopen my business… but God clearly had other plans. 🤭

After applying for multiple jobs and going viral on TikTok a few times, it became undeniable that God was calling me back to what I love most: serving others through my gift while walking in my God-given purpose. On May 29th this year, Crowned in Purpose was reborn, in no other place than Manchester! 👑

Since then, I’ve had the honour of helping over 100 people embrace their crowns. 🥹🥰

Thank you to each and every one who has visited me so far or is planning to sometime soon. I appreciate you a lot. ❤️

Where do I even begin? 🥹🩷

Five months ago I left The Netherlands, leaving behind a salon I built with love for five years. I never imagined I’d start over in a new country, let alone reopen Crowned in Purpose in Manchester so soon. And yet, here I am — but that's not all.. 🇬🇧

When Laila from asked me to stand as a curly hair stylist for the EU tour in London, it truly felt like a *pinch me* moment. To be standing for a BIG natural hair care brand and being surrounded by so many inspiring WOC, was EVERYTHING! 😮‍💨

Crowned in Purpose was never just about hair. It started as a God-given vision to help others embrace how they were uniquely created and to remind them they were set apart on purpose, for purpose. 🕊️👑
.So to be invited into spaces like this, where passion, representation and community collide… it means more than words can say. Little me would've been so proud! 🥹 This was a full circle moment for me, since there was a time I didn't believe in myself enough because I got bullied for what I looked like.

Let this be your reminder that you can do all things through Christ Who strengthens you and that no mountain is too high to climb, as long as you put your mind into it! 🌸

Something completely off topic—since I usually like to keep my business and private life separate. But Crowned in Purpose was never just about textured hair or my salon business.

It represents everything God-honouring. It stands for the journey that led me to walk fully in my God-given purpose in the first place. So allow me to share a glimpse of my story, as it formed me into the woman I am today.

I saw a clip from about never compromising your values and felt it on my heart to share my story and testimony, because I wholeheartedly AGREE! This is for anyone who wants to stay abstinent until marriage but struggle/ question themselves due the opinion or pressure from others in society..
