The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Film Grant Fund provides intentional support and funding to amplify women, BIPOC & LGBTQ+ centered stories that celebrate running across the spectrum of cultural experiences.

$1000 - $3000
1 August, 2024 - 29 November, 2024

The grant is available in three funding tiers:

$100-500 - New equipment, new software, funds for a short and simple film, etc.
$500-1,000 - Additional funding for an already partially funded film, additional equipment, additional staffing, etc.
$1,000-$3,000 - Major funding for a short to medium length documentary, additional funding for an already partially funded full length film, etc.
​Applicants may select the funding level that best suits the needs of their project.

Impact Documentary Fund

Supporting the production of powerful documentaries that address contemporary social issues.

IDF invests in 10-15 projects annually through our general and development funds, reviewing submissions year-round on a rolling basis. If you're working on a feature-length or episodic documentary and seeking funding, IDF invites you to submit.

They are interested in projects that:

Tell strong, cinematic stories
Explore urgent contemporary issues
Have a clear point of view and artistic vision
Development Fund Submissions
The Development Fund is aimed at early-stage projects. Filmmakers can apply for funding ranging from $30,000 to $100,000 for various purposes, including:

Development shoots
Cutting a trailer or reel
Archival research
Casting characters
Reward: $30000 - $100000

The Development Fund is for projects that are early on in the filmmaking process. You should apply if you have started developing a documentary feature or series, and you are looking for seed funding for pre-production/early production.

You should apply to our General Fund if your project is in production or post-production. You must have footage available to share in order to apply.

Are you a creative from Rotterdam with a big heart for cinema? As a guest curator, you’ll have the chance to programme the RTM day which takes over LantarenVenster on Friday 31 January 2025.

You will create a vision for the program, select films or other media, discuss choices with fellow curators, and join the festival team. On RTM Day, you'll host your program, introducing and moderating Q&As with filmmakers.

Howard G. Buffett Fund for Women Journalists

The IWMF’s Howard G. Buffett Fund for Women Journalists supports the production of ambitious projects and underreported, globally important stories.

Women and nonbinary journalists of any nationality are eligible to apply.
Applicants must identify as women or nonbinary. (The IWMF believes that gender does not conform to one notion. We are inclusive of all journalists who identify as women, which includes trans women, and nonbinary people.)
Practicing journalism must be the applicant’s primary profession.
Applicants must have at least one year of professional journalism experience, with a track record of publishing in non-student outlets.
Teams of journalists may apply, however the submission must be from a woman or nonbinary journalist and the team must include at least 50% women or nonbinary journalists.

Special consideration will be given to freelance journalists.

Reward: $10000
