VERWEESD EIGENDOM is finished and ready to be seen.

This powerful documentary by Piet de Blaauw and Frénk van der Linden tells the long and emotional story of heirs fighting to reclaim possessions looted during WWII. At its core are the so-called ‘orphaned objects’: thousands of items still waiting to be reunited with their rightful owners. But this film goes beyond objects: it’s about identity, family history, and an unresolved past that continues to demand attention.

Darkroom is IFFR’s work-in-progress programme that takes place during CineMart. Darkroom is a platform for recently completed or nearly finished films – all supported by the Hubert Bals Fund, formerly presented at CineMart or with a Rotterdam Lab alumni attached – seeking completion funding, sales agents, and festival platforming and exposure.

Some pictures from yesterday at the Belgian premiere of The Pupil at Filmfestival Oostende! thank you for having us, it was great to share the film with the Belgian audience.

Darkroom selection for 2026 revealed!

Thrilled to be selected for PRO Darkroom work-in-progress with GET UP STAND UP, directed by .j.sanders

Darkroom offers a platform for the international industry to access exclusive previews of recently or nearly completed films seeking completion or gap funding, sales agents and festival selections. 10 feature works-in-progress will be screened in 2026, all presented during CineMart running Sunday 1 to Wednesday 4 February during IFFR 2026.

We are excited to announce THE PUPIL by Karin Junger won the Special Jury Award at !

“For its ability to depict with great clarity the attributes of manipulation, supported by a consistent mise-en-scène and the intense effort of the two protagonists — among them Bart de Wilde, a remarkable teenage actor who is making his debut. The dangerous impulses at the core of the story are addressed without resorting to simple demonization, while supporting a profound consideration of the psychological trauma it generates,” reads the Jury rapport.

Thanks to the Festival del Cinema Europeo for selecting the film, and the jury for recognizing our efforts for a nuanced depiction of this sensitive topic.
