Is it ALWAYS better to create e-learning in-house? 🤔

It depends on your topic.

➡ For generic topics, off-the-shelf courses are a quick solution.

Need to train your salespeople on cold-calling best practices? You can find thousands of courses on that topic. No one needs to reinvent the wheel. 🎡

✨ But to make the training effective, you should complement it with an in-house course that complements the content with company-specific information.

This can include:
• unique strategies
• links to internal resources (like scripts)
• recordings of successful cold calls

➡ For company-specific topics, it's better to create them in-house. 🏠

You won't find an off-the-shelf course for this, so you'd need to outsource the e-learning creation to a vendor.

This will be expensive. 💸 It will be slow. ⌛

It will also be time-consuming for your employees. (To create your e-learning, vendors must interview your subject-matter experts to gather insights and ask them to review the course later.)

TL;DR:
• For generic topics, off-the-shelf courses are a quick solution
• Complement them with an in-house course on org-specific info for maximum value
• For company-specific topics, creating in-house is quicker and cheaper
