As a musician, teacher, and ethnographer, Helsinki-based artist Aukio Sound is inspired by the seemingly contradictory social possibilities that electronic music enables: its ability to connect you to others and also the way it can foster deep solitary inner inquiry. It’s what defines and sets apart his music, including his new release on Futura Resistenza. The two singles, “Hode Medio” and “Sakpata,” and their versions, are driven by John Follas’ pristine, honeyed vocals which sound immediate and conversational, as if he’s in the room with you. But the dubby techno arrangements cocoon you in fog-like synth and a meditative beat that encourages the kind of introspection you only experience on a late night walk home alone.

Rachel Schenberg is a visual artist and writer based on Gadigal land Sydney. Alongside her solo practice she collaborates with Jordi Infeld on time-based poetry projects, and performs with Megan Alice Clune under ‘Duets’.

"Rabid uses leaking sounds, language and samples, that combine gentle warping and sudden jolts, with this idea of fu***ng up the voice, hearing it whispered, meowing, bending…" —as described by friend and sound artist Max Parnell

'Rabid' gathers sound exchanges between Levi Lanser and Céline Mathieu since 2019. Usually collaborating under the name 'JAUME', Levi sends Céline tracks made of samples mostly, over which she then improvises without pre-listening, responding to the visual of the sound in Audacity, and reading bits and pieces from her notes. When doing so, she often seeks a feeling of falling away; a presence of language as voice; an in-between of meaning and mood, which is also part of the way in which it is recorded technically and text-wise. Many of these sound pieces have been featured in Céline's performative installations, and aired on (online) radios.

Levi Lanser is a researcher in the field of urbanism/architecture, design education, and sound. He forms 1/2 of VOICE ACTOR.

Céline Mathieu is an artist and a writer, working on the circulation of thoughts and materials, combining conceptual and sensory notions with relational smudge.
