Events were held in Amsterdam venues such as Paradiso, Mazzo, Panama and Melkweg with the best DJโ€™s on the planet flying in to headline. As of 2021 the label has reverted to it's original purpose, namely being an exclusive outlet for C-Jay's own music, with a selection of other artist's releases as well, handpicked by C-Jay himself. With a brand as strong as The Sessions and Covid continuing to make the future of the music industry unclear, now is the right time for him to take full control again. The circle, which commenced back in 2004, is now complete, and ready to adapt to the future.

Up first is this stunning remix pack of C-Jay & LOM's "Dormarch" release on Darin Epsilon's "Perspectives Digital" imprint, October 2021. Where the original track was a progressive stomper, this pack turns things upside down completely.

๐ˆ๐š๐ง ๐๐จ๐๐๐ฒ (๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง - sample 1) has been around since... well, since forever actually.
He's a synthologist, sound-designer and the owner of DiN music, one of the most renowned ambient recordlabels around. With numerous albums under his belt and covering a decades spanning career he's without doubt one of the founding fathers of the electronic music scene.

๐€๐ซ๐ฃ๐ž๐ง ๐’๐œ๐ก๐š๐ญ (๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ - sample 2) can easily be called the "Dutch Klaus Schulze" as his style is very reminiscent to the Berlin-school sound of Klaus and Tangerine Dream. His production skills are insanely good and his live use of hardware sequencers makes one feel thrown back in time.

Dutch producer and mastering engineer ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐œ๐จ๐ซ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง (๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ - sample 3) finishes this pack in style. Marco is most commonly known for his remix work for Jean-Michel Jarre, in the late 90's.

And if this wasn't enough of a link to all things synth, let's point out once more that Stรฉphane Gervais (the featured artist on the original release) was Jean-Michel Jarre's right hand for almost a decade; both on stage as well as in the studio, being heavily involved in the production of albums like "Oxygene 3" - "Electronica 1, & 2" and "Equinoxe Infinity"

Well, as promised: The Sessions Recordings are back in business soon. The first release will be scheduled for early 2022.

This will be an EP with ambient / downtempo remixes of my release ๐™ณ๐š˜๐š›๐š–๐šŠ๐š›๐šŒ๐š‘, which came out earlier this year on Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital label. Where the original release was a dancefloor killer, this pack will be the complete opposite ;)

The first remixer we can introduce, is none other than the legend that is Ian Boddy. As a synthesist, sound-designer and owner of DiN records he has proven throughout decades he's one of the guys that always have been there and always will be...

Call it ambient, Berlin-style or synthwave.... Ian's been there and done that.

After a very rough year, I'm happy to say I'm able to spend more and more time in the studio finishing my BackSlider album, rebranding my label The Sessions Recordings to an ambient / elektronica outlet and even finishing a ....๐‘ค๐‘Ž๐‘–๐‘ก ๐‘“๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ ๐‘–๐‘ก....dancefloor track!

That's right, a tune aimed for dancefloors. To eat your face to. To bust a move and shake a b***y.
As you know, I don't do that many dancetracks anymore but when I do, I make sure it's a killer and not a filler ;)

The track has a long history, going back over 2 years in time when I played first drafts during my sets. And now it's finally finished! The track is called "๐ท๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘š๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘โ„Ž" and made together with my good friends LOM from Argentina and Stephane Gervais from Canada.

Next to this I'm working on a 2021 release with Audioglider for my label as well as an "ambient remixes" EP of my "Dormarch" track. (Darin does the dance-tracks, I will release the downtempo remixes myself at the start of 2022)
Not to mention my new "BackSlider 7-13" album planned for early 2022 on my label, the future finally looks bright again.

Back in 2006, label boss C-Jay made a track with Eelke Kleijn that became an instant classic in dj sets, for years to come. From Hernan Cattaneo to Carl Cox, this stomper went all over the world with one goal: make people lose their s**t.

The original tracks came out on vinyl through the mighty Plastik Park records, owned and managed by D-Nox. This 16BitLolitas rework appeared on our own label and the rest is history.

Hi all,

Just a quick message to let you know that the copyright support business we started earlier this year has it's own company name now.

As JouwMuziekRecht (YourMusicRights) we support creatives, composers, artists and organisers with all things copyright - contracts and neighbouring (master) rights.

When we started this new branch early 2021, we thought it could live side by side with the label. But as it grew much faster than expected and copyrights + contract checks have a different audience, we decided to make this a seperate business.

So, on these pages, we continue with posts about C-Jay's music and his label. And when Covid provides, maybe an event or 2 in the future again ;)

C-Jay's track "Deepwater" (with "Second Session"on the B-Side) came out August 11th, 2004 ๐Ÿ‘ด Vinyl only.

Soon it ended up in sets of Hernan Cattaneo, (๐‘คโ„Ž๐‘œ ๐‘ค๐‘Ž๐‘  ๐‘Ž๐‘› ๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘™๐‘ฆ ๐‘Ž๐‘‘๐‘œ๐‘๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘Ÿ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘‡โ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘†๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘  ๐‘Ž๐‘  ๐‘Ž ๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘’๐‘™) Armin van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox. As diverse as these names may seem, back than it was much more common to play genre blending sets instead of just doing one style.

Next to this, releasing a vinyl was some sort of quality stamp by itself: no one would press music on vinyl unless you knew it was really good and you had faith in your product. Otherwise you could just as easily flush โ‚ฌ 1500 (or similar) down the toilet.

Anyways, long story a bit longer: the release is now back online with it's original audio. Within a few months we will start releasing a selection of classics with new sound, mastered up to todays standards. But for anyone who missed this track in 2004, here it is again.
