Artescripta is publishing hand-made facsimiles of rare early music from a private collection. Facsimiles are hand-made in The Hague on order.

Artescripta is a publishing company of musical facsimiles : scores and parts, methods, manuscripts, etc. Created in 2020 by French historical horn player Nicolas Roudier, it is based in The Hague, Netherlands, and features exceptional music and prints. In 2019 Nicolas started compiling an inventory for a private collection of original music sheets dated from the mid-XVIIIth century to the late XIX

th century. Located in France, the collection gathers over 1000 titles, among them rare or unknown works and composers. The unquestionable value of these treasures convinced Nicolas to acquire them and to share them with the early music world in accessible yet beautiful facsimiles that will enlarge our repertoire and knowledge of late-classical and romantic music. They feature quality scans of the originals that will be digitally cleaned on demand, and a simple cover made of a typical Dutch rag paper (zaansch bord), with texts inspired from the original fonts of the time. The music is printed on a beautiful 100g laid paper, the same that was used during the XIXth century. A basic binding method is then used to guarantee affordable prices : a glued tape of linen, or a simple ribbon binding for items with less than 10 pages.

New for pianists and violinists ! 🎻🎹 J. L. Maresse (1797-1835) : Variated Air for the Pianoforte with accompanying Violin and Basse ad libitum, or solo Violin. Dedicated to Miss Adèle Hottinguer. Edited by Leduc in 1818. Complete score for piano and violin. Can thus be played as is. The basse would usually follow the piano’s left hand. Update ! For a while there was an incomplete edition of the 3 Trios op.13 by Rasetti on the website. While inventorying, we found another edition of Trios 1 and 3 in the collection, absolutely complete ! Trio 3 even has an alternative part for violin in case of absence of basse 😍 Trio 2 remains slightly incomplete, but this is quite an improvement. Have a look : https://artescripta.com/?s=rasetti

Attention horn players ! New RARE facsimile available ✨📯 A. Clapisson (father to Louis Clapisson) : 12 Petits Duos pour 2 Cors, dont 3 Airs Variés, dedicated to his pupils. Edited by Meissonnier in 1821. Two complete parts. Strangely, the second horn part has a different title hand-written on its cover (16 Duos par Poussez) but it is actually the music of Clapisson inside. Stamp of the editor on the first part’s cover.

Very rare, beautiful music and very interesting writing for natural horn, especially for the second part which demands great mastery. Performed for the first time in September 2024 by Nicolas Roudier - Historical Horn Player and Stefan Blonk . I am selling them only in separate bindings and cleaned.

Another creation finished ! A pair of the very rare Préludes by Lacnith for Fortepiano, ready to be sent to France.
This print is actually the very first I ever sold, so I took this opportunity to give it a glow-up : improved the layout of the scans, the front label, and bound both of them with a simple satin lace, inspired by some of the originals I've held in my hands.

A very rare score ! ✨ Jean-Georges Sieber (1738 – 1822) was a hornist, trombonist and harpist as well as music editor, however very little of his music is known. This is a Nocturno or Divertissement Concertant for the Pianoforte and Horn or Violin obligato, with Basse ad libitum. 🎹🎻📯 Dedicated to the Count of Moltke. Edited by Sieber in 1810. Stamps of the editor and of Dominique Cauvé. This is the score for Pianoforte and Violin, complete and rare ! A rare work for pianoforte ! 🎹 Gustave Dugazon : 45 Préludes pour le Pianoforte dans les tons Majeurs et Mineurs les plus usités, dédiés à Miss Vere Hobart. Edited by Boieldieu in January 1821. Stamp of the editor and a hand-written signature (de Marscillac ?). Only 30 preludes, but still very rare.
