Wobby.club is the platform for autonomous illustration, visual art, and literature in the Netherlands. It was established in 2015 by a small group of artists rooted in the absurdist tradition in the Southern Netherlands. Wobby.club organises the risoprinted quarterly Wobby, the two-week course To Riso or Not, the Wobby Workout, and many more projects.

👋 WOBBY’S WORK-SHOP 2026 - Werk samen aan een zine over Tilburg!

Tijdens .playgrounds organiseert Wobby Club een gratis workshopweekend waarin jongeren uit heel Tilburg samenkomen om de stad te verbeelden en te onderzoeken aan de hand van beeld, tekst en risoprint.

Maak kennis met de drie jonge makers uit Tilburg die samen met jullie aan de slag gaan om je eigen verhalen, ideeën en perspectieven op de stad vorm te geven!

✏️📌‘Mijn plek in Tilburg’ met Saber Aidarus - 5 Sept - 10:30 - 13:00
Saber is een Somalisch-Nederlandse animator en contentmaker. Met zijn succesvolle animatieserie SaberOH! vertelt hij verhalen die zijn gebaseerd op zijn persoonlijke ervaringen en Somalische achtergrond. Daarnaast is hij actief binnen We Speak in Tilburg West, dat een diverse groep jongeren uit Tilburg West bereikt en jongerenparticipatie en maatschappelijke betrokkenheid stimuleert.

✏️🚶 ‘Mijn route in Tilburg’ met Jasmine Boor .a.m.boor - 5 Sept - 14:00 - 16:30
Jasmine is interactieontwerper en maker van de non-commerciële stadskaart USE-IT Tilburg. Tijdens haar afstuderen aan de HKU heeft ze onderzoek gedaan naar 'third places', plekken waar je samenkomt, elkaar ontmoet en ideeën uitwisselt. Jasmine werkte mee aan een Keti Koti-programma in samenwerking met Het Zuidelijk Toneel en was museumgids bij de tentoonstelling van Kara Walker in Museum De Pont.

✏️💭 ‘Mijn toekomst in Tilburg’ met Eva van de Sande .vds – 6 Sept – 12:00–14:30
Eva is visual storyteller, vormgever en onderdeel van de q***r community Qult. In 2025 verzorgde zij al een workshop tijdens Wobby’s Work-Shop. Daarnaast is zij initiatiefnemer van Safe Space, een plek waar feestgangers tijdens carnaval terecht kunnen voor rust en ruimte na grensoverschrijdend gedrag.

Here is my contribution for wonderful #43 “great scape”. I’m grateful to share paper with artists I admire so much.
This issue is about running away for it all, leaving the reality behind and hiding in our cozy fantasies and just be able to take a deep breath. I personally wish I could unplug my brain sometimes.

✏️ At the initiative of Wobby, Nina van de Ven , a visual artist from Tilburg (NL), gave several workshops at the end of 2025 that inspired two new drawings.

The workshops were given to participants of the daytime activities of De Sam at Landpark Assisië in Biezenmortel .sam.biezenmortel , a residential facility for people with intellectual disabilities. Throughout the workshops, participants created imaginative fantasy creatures through collaborative cadavre exquis drawings and individual drawing exercises, while also exploring and drawing elements from nature. Based on these results, Nina created two new works in which the participants’ drawings reappear on jackets through patches, buttons, pins, and embroidery.

Nina van de Ven’s work creates a personal universe grounded in visual storytelling. She draws on iconography spanning human civilization, combining objects, motifs, and symbols from historical, occult, and everyday sources, rich with references to both history and pop culture. In her drawings, she searches for balance in patterns, freely associating between light, dark, posture, and visual language, allowing the work to evolve throughout the process.

✏️We asked Julija Panova to create 3 new drawings for the new issue - Great Escape. Julija is an artist and illustrator based in Rotterdam (NL), whose work spans digital drawing, comics, and socially engaged projects.

Soon after I first arrived in the Netherlands, I stumbled across a stack of Wobby zines in one of those little public book-sharing shelves and greedily took a few home. I never imagined I’d one day have my own work in its pages.
I’m happy to see my drawings alongside the work of the wonderful Roman Muradov and so many other amazing artists, with a beautiful cover by Raman Djafari 🌿. 🧚
My contribution look especially dreamy printed in these luminous colours.
I also have a small edition of Theater of Self printed in lavender ink. I’d love to trade one for another artwork—or if you’d like to buy one, send me a message.
