🎉Last weekend we celebrated 10 years of Wobby with a special expo at
Cross Comix Rotterdam. All issues from the past decade were on display - half of them long sold out - while at the Makers Market we shared the titles still available, along with fresh art prints. It was a rare chance to see the entire Wobby archive together: ten years of bold, visually distinctive work, shaped by a wide range of artists who have contributed to the magazine.

Alongside the expo, we took part in the Meet the Editor portfolio sessions, where we exchanged feedback and ideas with young artists, and we hosted a playful drawing session with illustration diva .

Thank you Cross Comix and Rotterdam (our number one favorite city after Tilburg) for the hospitality - see you next year!

Marijke Klamer .maan is an artist from Groningen (NL). She studied Fine Arts at Minerva Art Academy. She paints, draws and works with textile and ceramics.
An aspect that keeps coming back in her work is the relation between creatures and their surroundings and how these merge into each other. For Wobby #41 - Get well soon- she made 3 new drawings.

✏️ WOBBY’S WORK-SHOP
During Illustrada Festival/ We are Playgrounds on 6 and 7 September, Wobby.club celebrated its 10th anniversary with a special exhibition in a pop-up shop in the city centre of Tilburg, showcasing all 41 published Wobby issues, art prints, and special editions from the archives.
Besides this, we hosted free workshops where illustration served as a tool for dialogue, expression, and connection. Three groups took part, each bringing their own energy and perspectives.

In workshops led by feminist activist group and q***r community , participants discussed safety on the streets, sharing personal stories and insights. These sessions encouraged dialogue, inviting everyone to share perspectives and creatively translate them into powerful activist posters.

In the RPG character design workshop, multidisciplinary artist shared examples and ideas to inspire participants to create autobiographical characters using analogue techniques. By rooting characters in their own identities and backgrounds, the workshop opened space for diversity, representation, and personal storytelling.

We thank all workshop hosts and participants for their openness, which helped create a creative and collaborative atmosphere. Posters were printed on the spot with the risograph printer, resulting in bold and colourful prints. You can find more pictures and all results on our website!

🎨 Artist Tara Booth (US) contributed a two-page comic and an illustrated page for Wobby #41 - Get Well Soon. We transformed her full-color paintings into two-color Risograph printed pages.

Her autobiographical comics tackle issues relating to mental health, addiction, gender and sexuality. Known for her painterly approach to comics, often using bright colors and dizzying patterns - Tara’s work has been featured in Best American Comics, The New York Times, Vice and Bloomberg Businessweek, among others.

We’re thrilled to congratulate Tara on winning the Eisner Award for Best Humour Publication for her book 'Processing: 100 Comics That Got Me Through It', published by Drawn and Quarterly. The Eisner Award is one of the most prestigious awards given to comics, often referred to as the 'Oscar of comics'.

Two of her pages from Wobby #41 have also been Risoprinted into vibrant four-color art prints, now available in our webshop!
