STEREOTYPE || Highlights from the Interactive Performance

“Stereotype” is an interactive performance where the body becomes a battlefield for identity.
A confrontation between how we see ourselves, and how others decide to see us.
Between the image imposed on the body, and the truth that tries to escape it.

In this work, the gaze is not passive.
It wounds, shapes, controls, diminishes, amplifies, or liberates.
Every look becomes an action. Every silence becomes a decision.
The audience is not watching… they are participating in the construction and destruction of the performer.

This highlight video presents fragments from the live performance atof.fights, Art & Performance Event in , 09-11-2025, Utrecht.

Behind these photos is a room full of movement hesitation laughter and discovery
We entered as strangers and slowly became a space of trust expression and courage
Acting opened the door to presence to listening to reacting and to breathing deeply

These frames were taken inside the acting workshops .utrecht Urban Talents
A place where we learned from each other stood back up after falling
and discovered parts of ourselves we had not seen before

The people in these photos are not just talents
they are skilled thoughtful performers with presence heart and identity
Each one carries something unique
each one deserves to be seen remembered and followed
Support their work follow their art because what is coming is bigger and more beautiful


This experience did not stay inside the room
it grew into a new creation the film Between Vodka and Stroopwafel
Premiere in around two months
Stay close the moment of watching will belong to all of us

Grateful for everyone who shared this space with me
and for the mark this experience left inside me .weart 🎭✨

STEREOTYPE – An Interactive Performance

Somewhere between light and shadow,
two figures stand, silent, unmasked.
Between them: only a gaze, a distance, a breath suspended in air.

Do we see others as they are...
or as we wish them to be?

In a performance that defies traditional theatre,
the space between the eyes and the body becomes a field of revelation,
a mirror where each of us might see ourselves.

Everything that happens here is real,
but no one knows what will happen next.

Because art does not stand neutral,
And music can say what the world cannot,
Every note is a cry of life rising from beneath the rubble
And we will keep going until justice is done.

"Flashbacks" is the original soundtrack inspired by the short experimental theatrical film that portrays human memory in times of war, how the same stories keep repeating with different names, faces, and places.

The work connects two profound symbols: Handala - created by Naji Al-Ali as an emblem of Palestinian identity, and A’ajaf - a character born in 2011 by Ali Taifour during the Syrian war, embodying hope amid destruction.

Through a sequence of evocative scenes, real war sounds, and musical compositions born from the wars in Syria and Palestine, the piece explores the conflict between memory and conscience.
It stands as a visual and sonic reflection on power, loss, and the long-awaited rebirth of the Levant.

A short theatrical film exploring the human revolution within society, a journey through identity, oppression, and the struggle to remain human in a world ruled by power and fear.
Originally created in 2020, the film returns to the screen as part of .of.fights , organised by — a collective art event blending performances, live music, and visual arts to explore resistance, emotion, and unity.
