🎉 Congratulations to CEP Ambassador Steve Pitts!

On 25 July 2025, Steve received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette from the Government of Japan, honouring his contributions to international cooperation in probation.

The award was presented at a ceremony hosted by the Japanese Ambassador in London, attended by colleagues, friends, and CEP Board Members.

🌍✨ On this Nelson Mandela Day, we reflect on a major milestone in CEP’s journey. In 2023, we proudly signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), laying the foundation for stronger cooperation in building effective, humane, and community-based probation systems worldwide. From 1–4 July, over 50 professionals from across Europe and beyond gathered in Barcelona for the 7th Criminal Justice Summer Course, organised by CEP, EuroPris, and EFRJ through the Criminal Justice Platform Europe.

The 2025 edition focused on strengthening the professional role in probation, prison, and restorative justice—through practical workshops, thought-provoking plenaries, and study visits to Catalonia’s innovative justice institutions.

From learning restorative communication and working alliances to mapping cultural change, participants left inspired and ready to foster transformative justice in their own systems.
