🎻 Aleksey Igudesman and Lucas Debargue perform Discovery, recorded at ConcertLab.
“This piece for violin and piano was written at ConcertLab, the brainchild of renowned cellist Gavriel Lipkind—a remarkable space specially designed for filming and recording music. It unfolds like a fresh discovery of the mind and body, gleaming with joy. This work is part of 'Autumn Thoughts,' a set of five atmospheric pieces for violin and piano, which can be played individually or together.
Autumn. A time of year that invites reflection. At times, it even feels melancholic. And “messy.” Messy because of the leaves scattered on the ground. Yet, whether you let that messiness weigh you down or embrace the sweet melancholy and contemplative atmosphere, that choice is yours.
These pieces are like fleeting thoughts—sometimes intricate, sometimes simple. But always meaningful. I believe we should cherish our thoughts and give them more attention. In doing so, we may discover a little more about ourselves. And wouldn't that be lovely?
The first three pieces were composed at my home in central Vienna, Austria. The last two were created in Utrecht, Holland, at the extraordinary ConcertLab.”
