Radio Broadcast Mixer Month at ProFM Broadcast!

This June, we are focusing entirely on mixing consoles. For me personally, this is a wonderful trip down memory lane. I recently dove into my private archive and came across this photo of one of my very first true loves in radio: the LEM DM 82. A legendary vintage machine that formed the backbone of many studios back in the '80s and '90s.

I’m a few years older now, but when I look at this photo, I instantly feel that same passion I had when I first started. Let’s be honest: back in the '80s, things might not always have been done strictly by the official rules, but the drive was definitely there. I was always tinkering away to squeeze every bit of performance out of the equipment we had at the time. That exact same passion is still the driving force behind everything we do at ProFM Broadcast.

Technology has made massive leaps since then. From the analog faders of the LEM, we have now arrived at powerful digital consoles like the D&R Axum, the Axel Tech Oxygen 3000 Plus, or the compact AEV BSM Evolution. Reliability that spans generations.
A question we frequently get at ProFM Broadcast is: "How long does an FM transmitter actually last?" This week, we provided the ultimate answer while performing a new installation for our valued client, Radio Aalsmeer.

After an incredible track record, their loyal Sielco FM transmitter is officially entering retirement. The numbers are truly unique: nearly 23 years of continuous service and almost 200,000 operational hours on the clock. This was the very first transmitter they purchased from us decades ago, serving as living proof that investing in quality and proper maintenance pays off many times over.
