One of my fully refurbished CBX1000Z instrument clusters was on display at the Dutch CBX1000 Club stand at Central Classics last December in Houten NL. Seeing a freshly restored set outside the workshop and among true classics never gets old. This is how these instruments should look and feel again crisp needles smooth movement correct faces and a factory fresh appearance inside and out.

If your CBX gauges are tired inaccurate or simply no longer doing the bike justice a proper mechanical restoration makes all the difference. Not just cosmetic but rebuilt tested and ready for decades of riding ahead. Your bike deserves instruments that match its legend.

In this reel, I’m showcasing a fully restored CBX1000Z instrument set for a Dutch customer. Originally, the customer had brought in his own gauge faces, which I recognized from a former colleague’s work. Luckily, I managed to convince him to use my own custom faces instead. In one of my other reels, you can see exactly why I’m not a fan of those other faces. They tend to break easily, deform over time, or lose their shape, which ultimately affects reliability and appearance.

Thankfully, the client chose my gauge faces in the end, and the result is exactly how it should be. The instruments now look factory fresh again and are ready to provide many more decades of riding pleasure.

In this reel, I’m showcasing a freshly built XT500 gauge set for a 1980 XT500. The instruments that were originally on this customer’s bike were from the wrong model year, but I’ve now restored and matched everything so that he has the correct, original setup again.

Many of my customers love a bit of patina, but this set was made for bikes that are essentially brand new again. So naturally, they’re getting fresh, brand-new gauges. In this reel, you’ll see how these newly printed Canadian dials fit perfectly into a fully renewed CB1100F and CBX1000. I’ve also completely overhauled and recalibrated the internal mechanisms to ensure everything runs like new.
