The magic of cinema in an inflatable cinema!

During the Jeugdfilmfestival Antwerpen an inflatable cinema travels from park to square, visiting a different location in the city of Antwerp every day. This pop-up cinema brings films to young audiences in places where this is not a given. For many children this is their first cinema experience.

Life Upside Down is joining in! 🥳

Last year our documentary was selected in the competition for Best Short Documentary at this Youth Film Festival Antwerp.

The selection for this pop-up cinema feels like an appreciation that completes the story. This allows the film to reach even more parents/educators/teachers and their teenagers, the latter of which is perhaps the most difficult target audience for films and especially documentaries.

Dit was heel leuk!

🎬 Sometimes Life Upside Down finds its way to young people who have a similar story to our protagonist David and his mother Mery.

At two International Transition Classes (ISK) of the StartCollege Landstede Groep in Zwolle, the director Barbara de Baare got to screen the documentary and lead the follow-up discussion.

How powerful a visual storytelling comes from using film as an educational tool and conversation starter. We were truly amazed by this beautiful group of inquisitive people and how the film resonates.

De verbindende werkplaats!

Bij Jaco gaan 'Geef mij die moer eens aan' en 'mag ik mijn verhaal even kwijt?' hand in hand. Het was een feestje om dit voor het programma Zin in morgen van de KRO-NCRV te mogen maken.

Spelen in de golven terwijl het zwaard van Damocles je boven het hoofd hangt...

Jaspers inspirerende verhaal mocht ik vastleggen voor Zin in Morgen van KRO-NCRV.

Zelden zo'n kalme Noordzee gezien, die leek te zeggen, kom maar Jasper, ik zal voorzichtig met je zijn. Maar dat had helemaal niet gehoeven... Ondanks dat hij ongeneeslijk ziek is, omarmt hij de risico's en het mooie dat het leven voor ons in petto heeft.

Het werd een prachtige dag met een mooi gesprek vol levenslessen, midden op het strand met de ruisende zee op de achtergrond.

Rouw komt in vele gedaantes…

Voor Bas werkt het tekenen van zijn overleden zoontje Natan. Elke maandag verplichte rouwarbeid. ‘Zo kan ik mij even optimaal slecht voelen.’

Het was indrukwekkend zijn verhaal te mogen vastleggen voor Zin in morgen KRO-NCRV. Wat er uit zijn verdriet voortkomt, is waanzinnig.
