‘All of their things are beautifully recorded, perhaps that’s something that defines them.’

We are deeply humbled by this comment and headline in a recent Gramophone editorial post by Martin Cullingford and James Jolly, in the context of Bergen Filharmoniske Orkester's nomination for Orchestra of the Year, and their mastery behind the mics.

Referenced in particular was the Brahms Requiem album produced by Chandos Records, using our recording services in Grieghallen.

Also highlighted was our production of Mahler 8, which went to movie theaters in Dolby Atmos cinema sound, before hitting NRK TV, and Bergenphilive.

We are extremely grateful for the privilege of working closely with this masterful group! 🧡 And thanks to Chandos Records for the collaboration and trust!

Summer visitors! Marta is one of our assistant engineers at Nobel Lyd, and in June she brought a group of fellow alumni from University of Stavanger Music Production and Recording Studies to check out our facilities. In the true spirit of springtime, the past weeks have been an exciting period of growth--with new people and workflows in every arena. Even inside the walls, with freshly laid lines, intertwining with the roots of Grieghallen's historic studios. Spaces and structures are taking shape. The dust is beginning to clear (and get vacuumed) just in time for Festspillene!
