Out today! Ritual - The Hemulic Voluntary Band remastered version.

One of the absolute classics from the Swedish prog-rock scene, for the first time ever on vinyl.

The Hemulic Voluntary Band (2007) is the fourth studio album by Swedish progressive rock band Ritual. Its title references a fictional brass band from Tove Jansson’s Moomin universe, but the music leans more toward folk, symphonic rock, and '70s-style prog, resulting in a richly imaginative sound. Although not a concept album, it’s thematically tied by literary influences and a sense of childlike wonder. Drawing on Jansson's work, the lyrics explore imagination, nature, and the fantastical. Ritual’s songwriting focuses on storytelling and emotional depth, creating an immersive experience.

White Willow - Terminal Twilight remaster is now available to pre-order.
The last of the re-issues series from the Norwegian Prog legends whose long history started around 1992 with guitarist Jacob Holm-Lupo.

Originally released in 2011, Terminal Twilight came after a long hiatus for White Willow. After Signal to Noise, White Willow felt a little burned out, both as a band and from the whole prog scene. Jacob took a break to work on his art pop project The O***m Cartel. After that, he felt ready and eager to create prog rock again. This time the band decided to record and produce the album on their own.

The album was recorded in three studios: Jacob’s Dude Ranch Studio, Lars Fredrik Frøislie’s studio, and Mattias Olsson’s Roth Händle Studio. “Having Mattias back as a drummer for the first time since Ex Tenebris was fantastic. Before writing the material for this album, I had gorged myself on a lot of Italian prog rock, especially Le Orme. So I think a bit of that influence crept into the music. A very proggy album that we are still very happy with.” (Jacob Holm-Lupo)

Meticulously remastered by Jacob Holm-Lupo, this is is the last in a series of six White Willow re-releases on Karisma Records.

MEER Announces Line-up Change After 13 Years

After an incredible 13 years with the same line-up, MEER will in 2025 see its first member change since 2012.
Fans who have followed the band closely may have noticed that Knut has been thriving on the musical theatre stage over the past year. As his schedule has become increasingly full, both Knut and the rest of the band have come to the mutual decision that it’s time to part ways—allowing the band to move forward at full speed, while Knut can dedicate himself fully to his flourishing career.

Thus, the upcoming concert at Ostrów Rock Festival will, for now, be Knut’s last performance with MEER.

There are no plans to find a replacement, and going forward MEER will, like most bands, continue with one lead vocalist—Johanne.

This is a wholly amicable parting. We remain family and the best of friends, but sometimes there simply aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything one wants to do. While Knut is, for all intents and purposes, no longer a part of MEER, we’re not ruling out the possibility of future guest appearances.

The band is now in the early stages of planning the next album, and we’re excited to share what the future holds.

For now, we wish Knut all the best—and then some—as he continues to conquer new stages.

— MEER

Critics praised the album’s inventive arrangements and emotional range. It’s mix of complexity and accessibility appeals to both prog fans and casual listeners, with a strong balance of technique and feeling. In short, The Hemulic Voluntary Band showcases Ritual’s skill at crafting intricate yet heartfelt music. Its fusion of folk, rock, and prog, paired with thoughtful lyrics, makes it a standout in the genre.

This really hurts! We've had the honour and privilege to work with Axel Skalstad on albums with the bands , Ffog and , and we are so proud of those albums. What a musician, drummer and human he was. Our hearts go out to his family and all the musicians he played with. He'll be much missed!
