Thierry programs the IR-module for the container crane stop so that the cars drive at the slowest speed when they start again - thus ensuring they can get through the minimum radius on the way out. After testing it, we install the two IR-leds at each end of the right crane track, making them almost invisible.

I start cutting and fitting the stone wall sheet on the side of the climbing main track that runs around the industrial area. 😀

Installing the rest of the aluminium strips and testing the tracks! 😀 Thierry is checking that the IR-module for the container area works while I install another stop magnet with manhole cover.

Testing of the aluminum mid runner revealed some shortcuts, so the aluminium had to be trimmed down a few places to avoid contact with the wheels. But once done, the track works perfectly! 😀

Thierry scanned the Sætre Kjeks module on his phone to make a 3D-model of it. It will be used to make the masts and pipes for the power plant.

Making and installing aluminium strips for the center section of the industrial tracks. Thierry had the excellent idea to use a paper cutter for the alu-strips, and this worked really well.

Thierry installed the railroad crossing signs with lights (later also with sound).

We also finalized the filming for our tutorial video of the IR-light system for Viessmann. 😀

We are using brass manhole covers to hide stop magnets for the Viessmann cars. The magnets was an afterthought following experience with running the layout. If only the IR “traffic light” stops the cars, they will start running again if a train derails and causes a short circuit since the IR also stops working when that happens. This will lead to mayhem on the road as well as on the rails..! 😱

Thierry is working on railroad crossing signals, and I weather the sidewalk section on the industrial area.

Final preparations before our open day/show this weekend! 😀

The Heggedal layout is in place. There will be a lot more layouts from different parts of the country when we open our doors at 11:00-16:00 on Saturday and 11:00-15:00 on Sunday.
