I get many people in my inbox wanting to “work online,” but most don’t realise there’s a big difference between getting hired for an online job and starting your own online business as an entrepreneur.
An online job still works like a traditional job — you have set hours, a set salary, and you’re paid for your time. It gives stability, but your income is limited by your position, hours and salary cap.
Starting an online business is a different path. There isn’t always a guaranteed paycheck in the beginning, and yes — it usually requires an investment of time, money or both. But you’re building something that can grow beyond the hours you work. Your effort determines your results. No income cap. No asking for permission to earn more.
One gives you structure.
The other gives you ownership.
Neither is right or wrong — it just depends on whether you want stability… or you’re ready to build something that gives you freedom in the long term.
