Today marks an important step in the fight for justice in the music industry. This story, shared with Dagens Næringsliv, sheds light on the rampant fraud happening on streaming platforms—fraud that not only manipulates streams but also steals from hardworking artists.
For too long, platforms like Spotify and others have enabled a system where fake artists, fraudulent labels, and unethical actors thrive. This has come at the expense of real artists and their audiences, who deserve transparency, fairness, and accountability.
The investigation with Kjetil Sæter and Eskil Engdal has been pivotal in uncovering the scale of this fraud. Our collective determination to reveal the truth has amplified my voice and brought attention to an issue that the industry can no longer ignore. I am grateful to Dagens Næringsliv for giving me the platform to speak out.
The music industry needs to change. It’s time for streaming platforms to step up, take responsibility, and fix the broken system they’ve allowed to fester. We owe it to the artists, the listeners, and the future of music itself.
This is only the beginning of the fight, and it’s vital for me that real artists are protected and the industry is transformed for the better.
