We’re thrilled to share that Johanne Kristensen Sandvik’s debut feature, No Black Swan (working title), has received production support from the Norwegian Film Institute.

The film follows Marianne, a former truck driver, as she joins forces with others to take the Norwegian state to court after being wrongfully convicted in what later became known as the NAV scandal.

This is a story about what happens when systems meant to protect us fail, and who is left to carry the consequences. At a time when questions of class, access to justice, and trust in public institutions are increasingly urgent, this story feels more relevant than ever.

We feel a deep gratitude toward Marianne, Rune, Anette, and everyone else who trusted us with their stories. Congratulations to Johanne (Director) and Aurora (DP), who have followed this case since 2022, and a huge thank you to Norsk filminstitutt and Anna Ljungmark for their support!

"With Grace" received a Special Mention at the SIMA Studios + Awards!

“These films ask a great deal of us — and reward us with something rare and profound. At a moment of ongoing uncertainty for our field, I have never been more inspired by the courage, craft, and emotional precision of this year’s SIMA Award winners,” said Daniela Kon Lieberberg, Founder & CEO of SIMA Studios.

This means so much to us, and it is an honor to be recognized alongside such a remarkable selection of films.

Soon, "With Grace" will join Cinema Across Borders, SIMA’s annual traveling series. In collaboration with local leaders, community groups, and human rights forums worldwide, this initiative facilitates screenings of films that matter, sparking local dialogue, coalition-building, and community action.

Differ Media is a proud to be co-producer on the incredibly important documentary 80 Angry Journalists which will have its long-awaited premiere this weekend at the BIDF - Budapest International Documentary Festival!

The film follows from the inside as Hungary’s largest independent news outlet, Index, is taken over by figures close to the country’s authoritarian government. In an unprecedented act of solidarity, eighty journalists resign together, unwilling to serve under political influence.

Congratulations to the wonderful main producer Lorand Balazs Imre (FilmDough ) and director Földes András , we are so excited to follow as the film meets its audience, travels around the world, and reminds us of the importance of a free press. Thank you to Stiftelsen Fritt Ord for supporting the project in Norway and to the brave journalists who have shared their story in the film.
