Since June last year, Schibsted was split into two companies, Schibsted Media and Schibsted Marketplaces. Now, the separation is officially complete as Schibsted Marketplaces starts to use its new brand Vend. We will continue as two distinct brands and individual companies:

Really exciting news! 🎉 Today marks a milestone in Schibsted Marketplaces’ history as we unveil our future corporate brand name: Vend.

“Vend marks the beginning of a united effort. With this new brand, we are bringing together our family of marketplaces – uniting them into one powerful force of innovation,” says CEO Christian Printzell Halvorsen.

The complete transition to Vend is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025, meaning we will stay as Schibsted Marketplaces for a little longer – you can read more about the story behind our new brand name in this press release: https://schibsted.com/news/schibsted-marketplaces-reveals/

(Note that this brand change is only for Schibsted Marketplaces. Schibsted Media will keep the name Schibsted and the Schibsted social media platforms after Schibsted Marketplaces transitions to Vend.)

👋 Meet Jovana, a Product Manager at Schibsted Marketplaces who’s been with for five years. Starting as a market analyst, she is now the PM of the Recruiter Success team, and her passion for teamwork is at the heart of what she does. Let’s get to know her a little better!

💬 So, Jovana, what’s your role like?
As a Product Manager, I’m the team’s advocate, which means lots of meetings and collaboration! I talk to many people each day, but my favourites are my teammates, our users and sales teams. Recently, I’ve also been carving out some focus-time to think, write, and crunch numbers—it’s a nice balance to all the meetings.

💬 What’s a typical day at Schibsted Marketplaces like for you?
Lots of conversations! Whether it’s brainstorming, planning or user feedback, there’s always something going on. When our team comes together to solve user problems, that’s when I’m the happiest. 🎉

💬 What do you love most about working here?
The people! I am lucky to get to work with such a dedicated, knowledgeable, funny and caring gang.

💬 Tell us a little about yourself outside of work!
I’m originally from Serbia but have been living in Norway for 12 years. Outside of work, you’ll often find me hanging out with my two-year-old son. Luckily, being with him is my favourite thing to do!

💬 When you were a kid, what did you want to be?
When I was little, I wanted to be either an astronaut or an archaeologist, because both made exciting discoveries and started with the letter “a” (kid logic).

💬 If you could automate one thing in your life, what would it be?
Dressing my toddler! He and I both agree that we should automate this task, so It’s definitely on our roadmap!

💬 Tell us about your current role!
As Head of People & Culture at Lendo, I focus on aligning our people strategy with business objectives, from organisational development to talent management. Every day involves strategic planning and ensuring our teams are well-supported for success.

💬 Can you share a bit about your career journey at Schibsted?
Starting as an HR coordinator in 2017, I've moved through various roles across Schibsted, allowing me to grow as a person and a leader. Today, I'm in my dream role, leading at Lendo and directly influencing our culture.

💬 How would you describe Lendo's culture?
Lendo's dynamic and high-paced environment is rooted in teamwork, customer focus and ex*****on. We believe in winning as a team and embody resilience in everything we do. 💚

💬 What has driven your growth at Schibsted?
My journey has been supported by invaluable managers who believed in me and a robust HR community. The opportunities for learning and personal development within Schibsted have been significant, including participating in leadership programs and other training offered by our own Learning Lab.

💬 What advice would you give to others looking to advance their careers?
Consider it a marathon. Be present and surround yourself with people who inspire, challenge and believe in you. Most importantly, reflect on this simple question: Do I find joy in what I do? If so, continue on that journey ahead.

Aftonbladet and Alkompis الكومبس have teamed up to launch a unique version of Aftonbladet Daily – Sweden’s largest news podcast – now in Arabic, thanks to groundbreaking AI dubbing technology.

This marks the world’s first journalistic audio product to use AI for language translation, giving Arabic-speaking listeners exclusive insights into Swedish news and society.

– We see huge potential in making Aftonbladet Daily’s journalism accessible to a broader audience, says Martin Schori, deputy editor-in-chief at Aftonbladet.

The podcast will launch at the end of October on Acast, YouTube, and TikTok. Could this be a game-changer for bridging the information gap? 🌍
