Today we harvested the potatoes my son planted in our garden. He had planted two different types of potatoes, and I felt so excited watching him dig them up and see what had grown. We found many potatoes, although they were a bit small, but that did not matter to him at all. He was so proud and happy to see his own grown potatoes.

It was a simple moment, but it filled my heart with joy because he could see the result of his own effort.

We had a lovely day out at the "Teknisk Museum" in Oslo. Since it is my son’s summer school vacation, we are trying our best to visit as many places as possible and make beautiful memories together. This trip was something we were both looking forward to, and it did not disappoint.

The museum was full of fascinating things to explore. We saw a wide range of technology, from very old inventions to modern innovations. My son was especially excited to see the vehicles, planes, and robots. There were so many interactive exhibits, and it was wonderful to watch his curiosity grow as he touched, explored, and asked questions about everything around him. I also enjoyed seeing how technology has developed over time. It was both educational and inspiring.

It was more than just a visit; it felt like a small adventure we shared together. Days like this remind me how important it is to spend meaningful time with him, especially during his holidays. I am grateful for these simple but joyful moments that we can experience as a family.

The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology (Teknisk Museum) in Oslo is Norway’s national museum for technology, industry, science, and medicine. Located along the Akerselva river in Kjelsås, it features over 25 exhibitions with interactive displays on topics like transport, energy, medicine, and music. Visitors can see historic items like Norway’s first car and airplane, along with modern technology and hands-on activities, making it a popular destination for families and school trips.

In addition to its exhibitions, the museum offers a café, a museum shop, free parking, and easy access by public transport. It is also a popular venue for school trips, family activities, and weekend events.

A Day at Bergvang Besøksgård

Today, my son and I took a little trip to Bergvang Besøksgård, and it turned into one of the loveliest days we’ve had in a long time. The farm felt like a living animal fairytale, full of life, sounds and curious little faces waiting to meet us.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a whole world of animals: pigs and even mini pigs running around, friendly-looking horses, sheep enjoying the attention, and alpacas oh, so cute! There were also ducks, peacocks, chickens, turkeys and even guinea pigs that seemed to be having their own little conversations. And of course, some kind dogs keeping an eye on everything.

The absolute highlight was getting to feed the sheep. My son absolutely loved it. It was clearly his favorite part of the day. He held out his hand carefully, and the sheep came closer, sniffing and eating calmly from his palm. He laughed so heartily, and I felt a warm moment of pure joy. It was something so simple, yet so magical.

The alpacas were a chapter of their own. They were so beautiful and calm, and there were even baby alpacas there. Tiny, fluffy, and incredibly cute. They stood close to their mamas, and we got to stand right next to them and admire them. My son whispered, “They look like teddy bears,” and I couldn’t help but agree.

We walked around for almost two hours, took photos, laughed, and let ourselves be swept up in the good vibes. It was a day filled with presence, nature, and beautiful memories, exactly the kind of days I want to fill our everyday life with here in Norway.

When we left, my son was tired but happy. “Can we come back?” he asked. And yes, I think we absolutely will.

Wow, what a night! Spain just won the FIFA World Cup and I’m still buzzing with excitement.

Even though I’m a Sri Lankan living up here in Norway now, I’ve always loved watching Spain play. There’s something about their style, passion, and teamwork that just makes football so beautiful.

Honestly, Spain played incredibly throughout the whole tournament. Every match had those moments that made me jump out of my seat—amazing passes, solid defense, and that teamwork that just clicked. They didn’t just win; they played with heart and flair, and it showed.

When the final whistle blew tonight, I couldn’t help but smile like a kid. My husband was cheering alongside me, and our little guy was already asleep, but I know he’ll wake up tomorrow to a house full of happy vibes. Maybe we’ll even kick a ball around in the garden later to celebrate.

It’s funny how football can bring people together, no matter where you’re from. Tonight, I feel proud, happy, and just really grateful to have witnessed such an amazing performance. Spain — world champions, and totally deserved!

Congratulations, Spain! You played your hearts out, and this victory is something special. 🇪🇸⚽🏆

A Day of Strawberry Picking in Lier – July 19, 2026

🍓Today we took a little family outing
My husband, our 6-year-old son, and I went to “Selvplukking i Lier” to pick strawberries together. It was a bit cloudy and chilly, but we didn’t let that stop us. It turned out to be a really lovely experience for all of us.

🍓Arrival and Welcome at the Farm
When we arrived, there were already many other families with children there. A clear sign that this is a popular summer activity in Lier. One of the employees at the farm greeted us and showed us to a row of strawberry plants where we could start picking. There were so many rows of plants stretching across the field, and it felt almost like a little adventure to walk among them.

🍓Picking and Tasting
Our son was very interested and careful about searching for the red, ripe strawberries among the plants. He tasted a few along the way—which surely is part of the experience! We filled five cardboard packages with fresh, sweet strawberries, and the price was 60 kroner per kilo. A fair price for such fresh and delicious berries straight from the field.

🍓A Memorable Day
Despite the gray weather, it turned out to be a really nice day for us as a family. It was good to be out in nature, experience something new together, and not least, bring home some boxes of home-picked strawberries. Our little boy learned a lot about where food comes from, and we had a good conversation about food, nature, and farm work.

We would definitely recommend this trip to other families. It’s a simple, enjoyable, and educational activity for both young and old.

Thank you for the day, Lier—we’ll gladly come back! 🍓

We went for an evening walk, and it turned into such a nice little surprise when we found wild strawberries. There was this whole area covered with strawberry plants, and it looked so pretty.

The berries were tiny, but they were so sweet and full of flavor. Our son was really excited, and we all enjoyed picking a few together and just spending that quiet evening outside. Simple moments like this are the best.

Today we went for a little walk as a family and ended up finding raspberries along the way. Our son was so happy, picking and eating them right there. It felt like a small adventure for him.

This is honestly the best time in Norway. Berries are everywhere, and the best part is they’re free. No need to buy anything, just pick and enjoy. We just stood there, eating fresh raspberries and enjoying the moment together.

Simple days like this are the best.

Looks like summer is finally starting here in Norway.

Went for a walk with my son today, and we kept seeing so many beautiful flowers everywhere. So many colors. Yellow, purple, pink, white, blue. Like everything just suddenly came to life.

We stopped so many times just to look at them. My son was excited about every single flower, pointing and talking about them like little discoveries. It was such a simple but really nice moment.

After the long winter, this feels extra special. Just enjoying these small, happy moments together.

Tried "Too Good To Go" again today and honestly… this one was a win 😄

Got a warm food bag from "Meny-Thon Senter Sandvika" for just 49 kr, and I didn’t expect this much at all. There were 2 packs of meat curry with mashed potatoes and 2 packs of chicken lasagne. Like… that’s a lot of food for that price!

It’s always a bit of a surprise with these bags, but today felt like hitting the jackpot. Also makes me think how much perfectly good food is out there just waiting to be saved.

Sharing the pics because I’m still impressed 😄 Have you tried Too Good To Go? What’s the best thing you’ve ever received?
