Looks like summer is finally starting here in Norway.

Went for a walk with my son today, and we kept seeing so many beautiful flowers everywhere. So many colors. Yellow, purple, pink, white, blue. Like everything just suddenly came to life.

We stopped so many times just to look at them. My son was excited about every single flower, pointing and talking about them like little discoveries. It was such a simple but really nice moment.

After the long winter, this feels extra special. Just enjoying these small, happy moments together.

Tried "Too Good To Go" again today and honestly… this one was a win 😄

Got a warm food bag from "Meny-Thon Senter Sandvika" for just 49 kr, and I didn’t expect this much at all. There were 2 packs of meat curry with mashed potatoes and 2 packs of chicken lasagne. Like… that’s a lot of food for that price!

It’s always a bit of a surprise with these bags, but today felt like hitting the jackpot. Also makes me think how much perfectly good food is out there just waiting to be saved.

Sharing the pics because I’m still impressed 😄 Have you tried Too Good To Go? What’s the best thing you’ve ever received?

Today we spent some nice time at Kalvøya Beach in Sandvika enjoying the sunny weather.

The cutest part of the day was seeing a duck family by the water. Mama duck, papa duck, and three tiny ducklings. The ducklings were so fluffy and adorable, walking on the sand and swimming around their parents.

It was really nice to watch how the parent ducks were taking care of them, staying close and guiding them, just like a human family. They all looked so happy in the sunshine.

Simple moments like this make the day feel special.

Today we had such a nice day at the Tanum Flea Market and Family Day at Tanum Church Center. There were so many things for very low prices. Clothes, plants, shoes, bags, antiques, books, paintings, and lots more. It was fun just walking around and looking at everything.

The food stalls were really good too. They had cakes, coffee, hotdogs, pancakes, waffles, buns, cookies, popcorn, and slushy. We enjoyed popcorn, chocolate cake, vanilla cake, orange juice, and some sweet sherbet syrup.

There were games for kids and even a jumping castle, which made it extra fun for families. We also found some great things to buy. Story books for our son, a football, a big beautiful carpet, a jacket, and even a heater. Everything was in really good condition and very cheap.

There was also an auction for paintings, and people were so excited trying to buy them.

After that, we went inside Tanum Church. It is a very old church built around the year 1150. The thick stone walls and simple design make it feel very peaceful and full of history.

It was a simple, happy day spent together as a family.

We went for a nice evening walk today and saw so many apple trees full of flowers. It looked so calm and beautiful. In a few weeks, these trees will be full of apples in different shades of red, green, and even pink. Can’t wait to see that change.

Today I tried something fun 😄 I bought a surprise bag from the "Too Good To Go" app (very popular in Norway). It was only 49 kroner, and I picked it up from "Meny" supermarket.

Honestly, it felt like opening a mystery gift. Inside I found two pieces of carrot cake, juice, some crusty bread, coconut fat and even a Korean chili sauce. Such a random but interesting mix.

I really like this idea because it helps reduce food waste, and at the same time you get good food for a low price. Definitely feels worth it for me.

Have you tried Too Good To Go? What did you get in your surprise bag? Do you think it’s worth buying?

If you have photos, please share them in the comments. I’d love to see what others are getting.

Today we went to "Høvik Veritasparken" to see the cherry blossoms, and it was honestly so nice.

Cherry blossoms come in the spring, and even though I’ve seen many cherry blossom trees in Norway, this place felt different. There were so many trees all in one place, and it really looked like a scene from a fairy tale.

No wonder this place is so famous for wedding photography. It’s just that beautiful.

The trees were full of soft pink flowers, and petals were falling everywhere like tiny bits of confetti. It felt really peaceful just walking around and taking it all in.

Cherry blossoms only last for a short time, which makes them extra special. They don’t even grow fruit, just there to look beautiful for a little while. After such a long winter, seeing everything like this just feels like a fresh start.

It had such a happy spring vibe. Simple day, but really lovely.

Today is 17th May, and it was an unforgettable day for all of us!

We went to the children’s parade organized by my son’s school. The kids were dressed in beautiful Norwegian traditional clothes (bunad), waving the Norwegian flag, jumping and happily shouting “Hurra hurra!” all along the way. The school musical band marched proudly in front, playing music and making the atmosphere feel truly festive and joyful.

We marched all the way to the school, where there were stalls filled with chocolate cake, coffee, popcorn, juice, hot dogs and ice cream. Hot dogs and ice cream are classic and super special on this day in Norway, almost like a national parade tradition! There was also a lottery, and my son was so excited because he got a puzzle with a winning lottery ticket. We spent the afternoon eating cake, popcorn and drinking coffee and juice while enjoying each other’s company.

This day is very special for Norway because 17th May is Norway’s Constitution Day (Syttende mai), celebrating the signing of the Norwegian Constitution in 1814 at Eidsvoll. It marks the foundation of Norway’s independence, democracy, and freedom, and later became even more meaningful after Norway finally became fully independent in 1905. Today is not just about politics; it is a celebration of unity, children and Norwegian identity, with parades, music and family time all across the country.

Happy 17th May to everyone in Norway and to all Norwegians around the world!

Today we celebrate Norway’s Constitution Day, a day filled with pride, freedom, flags, music, parades, and joy.

This day is very important because on 17 May 1814, Norway signed its Constitution at Eidsvoll and declared itself an independent kingdom. Even though Norway later entered a union with Sweden, the Constitution remained a powerful symbol of national identity, and today it is celebrated as the country’s most important public holiday.

What makes this day so special is the way Norwegians celebrate it with children’s parades, traditional costumes, music, and lots of flags everywhere. It is a beautiful reminder of freedom, unity, and the strong spirit of the Norwegian people.
