Well that’s it for the warmer months in Norway! The temperatures will start to drop rather quick now as will the amount of light in the day. Time to start some winter projects and get some upgrades completed for some more sailing again soon. 🤙⛵️

A nice couple of days spent at one of the islands just a few hours sail from Stavanger. Good sand bottom anchorage which is kinda rare around here and a free mooring to use. Turned out to be a good spot to use the wing with the anchorage protected from the sea but the relatively flat island allows good wind to funnel through!!

The little vessel has been frozen into the berth quite a lot this winter. Not enough that it’s impossible to leave the dock but enough to freeze some of the pipework inside. Looking forward to some slightly warmer weather!

Thanks for the kind hospitality guys! .jeanne .p.anderson awesome to check out your new beast of an expedition yacht! Was cold, windy and wet but super cosy sailing in the pilot house with the fireplace keeping us warm.

Looking forward to some exiting times exploring up in these colder climates.⛵️❄️

If it’s to deep to anchor and there’s no dock around we have recently been tying up to the shore which opens up our options to explore more remote areas.

Nice and simple if the shore bolts are already installed and also the tides in Norway are pretty minimal. Some longer bowlines and a bowsprit with a ladder would probably make it much easier to climb down. New addition to the project list.

This is a small island group just a few miles off Stavanger on the West Coast of Norway. Great to visit in weather like this but would hate to see it when the North Sea is blowing a gale!! Narrow entrance between the shallow islands with a perfect dock right in the village.
