It's finally here! 👀 After lots of brainstorming, creating, collaborating, (and probably a few too many coffees!), we, Marina Tjetland, Leah Brickhouse, and Andra Farcau, are SO excited to officially launch almaZINE!

So, what's almaZINE all about? 🤔

Based right here in Stavanger, it's our new venture focused on helping us all 'learn the difference'.

We use engaging visuals (like our unique educational zines 📖) and honest conversations to explore those complex, sometimes tricky topics.

Think women's health, mental wellbeing, intersectionality, culture, and all the things that make us human.

We aim to make complexity simple and foster a bit more empathy and understanding in the world.

And because we love a good chat, we're also launching the almaZINE podcast! 🎧 Expect cozy, honest conversations where we dive into the important stuff and try to make the uncomfortable comfortable. The first episodes are ready for your ears!

Today, Feb 6th, is International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM

FGM (Female Ge***al Mutilation) is a violation of human rights that affects millions of girls, women, and affected communities worldwide. It’s time to break the silence, challenge harmful traditions, amplify survivor voices, and work together to empower and support those impacted.

AlmaZINE uses visual storytelling to take a multi-perspective approach to topics around mental, sexual, and physical health, as well as relationships and wellbeing. Volume 1 explores the realities of FGM—through art and personal narratives.

📢 We believe in the power of comics to educate, empower, and push for a world free from gender-based violence.
