This year STÆR celebrate its three-year anniversary. With seven Nordic and international titles premiering in acclaimed film festivals including Berlinale International Film Festival, Cannes International Film Festival and our first shortlist for an Oscar nomination we are happy to share our logo. 🤍

Handwritten, honest and political. Designed by Alberte Parnuuna using ‘Siorssuk’ style. ‘Siorssuk’ means ‘gust of wind’ and is spelled in the old orthography of Kalaallisut.

Alberte Parnuuna is a Nuuk, Kalaallit Nunaat, Greenlandic visual artist, filmmaker, and 2D animator based in Copenhagen. They identify as a mixed Inuk and position themself within the intersections of Indigenous identity and lived hybridity. Their practice is grounded in personal, political, and poetic storytelling often exploring cultural codes, memory, identity, and the long shadows of colonial history.

Thank you for drawing our signature and our love for art .parnuuna 🇬🇱 🤍

We are so happy to announce that we have got development funding from Sørnorsk Filmsenter for director Mirjam Sveinbjörg Thorkeldsdottir upcoming feature «syke jenter leker ikke».

An touching and intense psychological youth drama about friendship and the invisible destructive power hidden in love.

Mirjam Sveinbjörg Thorkelsdottir is a fresh Scandinavian voice that is rarely seen in contemporary Norwegian film. She is known for her intimate and honest approach to character-driven storytelling, portraying people in moral and emotional grey zones, often with a feminist and existential perspective. 🤍

Proud to celebrate this creative collaboration with This is Art and Clipper for the promotion of ÁRRU at the 76th Berlinale — Panorama Selection!

Hand-painted by artist Juanda Rivera, this limited edition of reusable lighters feature two distinct designs inspired by the geometric patterns and vibrant colors of the Sámi outfits in the film—diamonds, zigzags, circles, and silver details that bind them together.

Artist Statement
“As an artist, I love to get involved in creative projects and to help others. My mother’s father came from Indigenous people of the Amazon in Colombia. It was a nice connection—my roots in the tropical jungle and being part of a project at the other extreme, connecting to Indigenous people from the Arctic. I love getting my hands dirty and painting, doing anything I can that’s creative. It was a cool project to be a part of!”

We wanted to transform an everyday object into something meaningful. The lighters produce fire and light. In ÁRRU, light becomes a metaphor for speaking and yoiking what has long been silenced.

Like trauma, fire can destroy, but it can also heal and transform. By choosing a reusable lighter, we reflect the idea of breaking cycles and choosing care, creativity, sustainability, and renewal.

Refill. Reuse. Keep spreading the light and the story of ÁRRU.

Thankful to Juanda and Maria & Co at Clipper!

And for the valuable support shipping this package from Barcelona to Berlin!

Congratulations to paraguayan filmmaker Ángel Molina premiering his upcoming short «Bolero Rojo» at Rotterdam International Film Festival today 🤍

A drag queen singer’s boyfriend tells him that he is HIV positive. Between ballads and performances, he will experience intense and sensitive hours, as his convictions are shaken. Ángel Molina, a Paraguayan filmmaker and drag performer himself, exposes a heartfelt story of disarming sincerity, of (in)comprehension and love that never fades.
