Krishi Vines presents you with the first photo of the weekend series.
About the photo:
✨ "Silent guardian of the garden — the praying mantis waits with patience, a symbol of stillness and balance hidden among petals and leaves." 🌸
Facts: During mating, the female may bite off the male’s head or later consume him. It is a beneficial insect because it’s a predator that feeds on many crop pests such as aphids, caterpillars, grasshoppers, beetles, and even harmful flies. However, mantises are generalist predators — meaning they eat any insect they can catch, including beneficial pollinators like bees or butterflies. Overall, they are seen as natural pest controllers and allies in sustainable farming.
