Nepali photojournalist Narendra Shrestha has made history by winning top honors at the prestigious World Press Photo competition.
His powerful photograph of the burning Singha Durbar during the Gen Z protest secured 1st place in the West, Central & South Asia โ Singles category.
For the first time in the 71-year history of the competition, a photo taken by a Nepali photojournalist from Nepal has received this level of global recognition. ๐
Out of 37,000+ photographers from 141 countries and over 57,000 images, this remarkable shot stood outโshowcasing the strength, emotion, and impact of Nepali storytelling.
