Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Amresh Kumar Singh criticized the government's budget in Parliament, saying it fails to address the needs of farmers, unemployed youth, and low-income communities.
While acknowledging positive measures such as higher income tax thresholds, startup support, and IT sector incentives, Singh opposed VAT on education and healthcare, arguing that taxing fundamental services contradicts constitutional principles.
He also highlighted the lack of job creation plans, poor support for farmers, rising dependence on remittances, and Nepal’s growing debt burden. Singh warned that excessive borrowing and low capital expenditure are hindering economic growth and development.
The MP concluded that despite repeated promises of transformation in annual budgets, ordinary citizens continue to face unemployment, inflation, and limited economic opportunities.
