Byakhya (ब्याख्या) is an initiative to create curated content to explain everything that matters you the most in a simple language that everyone can understand. We primarily cover technology, startups, business and emerging trends.
Byakhya is seeking applications for a full-time Journalist/Editor-Nepali Language to join the team to ensure development and publication of high-quality, engaging content across all platforms (online platform, newsletters, and social media.)
The Journalist/Editor-Nepali Language will be responsible for writing, editing, rewriting, proofreading, and curating content for Byakhya's audience.
If you're someone with impeccable Nepali writing, editing and storytelling skills, a knack for numbers, an interest in business, entrepreneurship, tech and startup sectors, then you're the person we’re looking for.
What does this job require?
Ensure high-quality, accurate, engaging content by writing, proofreading, copy-editing, and rewriting copies.
Ensure accuracy by conducting fact-checks, while ensuring context, consistency, structure, inclusivity, and nuance in copy.
Quickly transform copies into clear, crisp, accurate, engaging content, while adding value and inputs that enhance the final copy
You should apply for this role if you:
Have a Bachelors degree in Journalism/Mass Communication or related fields.
Have at least 2 years of experience in writing and editing quality content tailored for the Digital Medium and with a focus on business journalism.
Are proficient in Nepali writing, grammar, current affairs, and an understanding of business and technology terms.
Know how to use social media and SEO, conduct data analysis, and plan/think through a content strategy.
Are a multi-tasker, with the ability to thrive under pressure and work under short deadlines.
Have a passion and flair for storytelling, and a willingness to learn.
Have worked earlier with a digital media platform, managed operations and marketing.
Previous reporting/editing experience, especially in business/technology journalism, is a plus.
