Flooding along the Trishuli River has disrupted transport in Dhading, with a section of the Prithvi Highway at Krishnabhir collapsing, a suspension bridge washed away, and four riverbank houses swept away.

Rescue teams have located the tunnel entrance at the Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project, where around 40 workers are believed to be trapped following severe flooding in the Bhote Koshi–Trishuli corridor.

The entrance, found about 8 metres below a vertical access point, is now being cleared. Rescuers are preparing to send in oxygen and cameras to assess conditions and locate the workers, with an estimated 180-metre journey from the portal to the suspected worksite.

According to Chief Editor at Samacharalaya, rescue team has begun blasting to create an opening to enter the tunnel.

The entrance, found about 8 metres below a vertical access point, is now being cleared. Rescuers are preparing to send in oxygen and cameras to assess conditions and locate the workers, with an estimated 180-metre journey from the portal to the suspected worksite.

Nepal Electricity Authority, Nepal Army and technical experts are leading the operation, with Indian and Chinese rescue teams also supporting efforts across affected hydropower projects.

As over three days have passed and grievances grow, rescue efforts intensify for workers trapped inside Trishuli 3A Tunnel.

An estimated 35–40 workers, including NEA technical experts, remain trapped inside the 60-MW Upper Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project in Rasuwa while carrying out scheduled maintenance work.

But as the operation slows due to several constraints, families and relatives are growing increasingly concerned, visiting the NEA’s central office and urging authorities to speed up the rescue.

The government says rescue efforts have been intensified, with 82 security personnel working to clear mud and debris blocking the tunnel entrance. An Indian rescue team has also reached Trishuli to assist with reconnaissance and rescue planning.

Road connectivity to flood-hit Rasuwa has been restored, reopening a vital route for rescue teams, relief supplies and essential goods.

Small vehicles can now travel from Kathmandu to Dhunche, while traffic has also resumed on most of the Prithvi Highway after days of disruption.

Authorities and security agencies continue clearing debris and damaged sections as rescue and relief efforts move forward across the flood-affected districts.

Nepal flood death toll rises to 626

The devastating Bhotekoshi flood and subsequent flooding downstream have claimed 626 lives, while 2,426 people remain unaccounted for, according to NDRRMA.

More than 4,400 people have been rescued, while search and rescue teams continue working in the worst-affected areas. Authorities fear the death toll could rise as previously inaccessible locations are reached.

Thousands of security personnel are deployed as efforts continue to find missing people, relocate families to safer areas, clear debris and restore access to affected communities.
