Kathmandu, July 29– Prominent tourism entrepreneur Namaraj Gauli has officially entered the race for General Secretary of the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), with a strong agenda focused on reform, transparency, and institutional development. The election is scheduled for August 23, 2025 (Bhadra 7).
A Trusted Leader in Tourism
Gauli brings over 20 years of experience in Nepal’s tourism and mountaineering sector. A respected youth tourism entrepreneur based in Thamel, he currently serves as an executive member of the NMA and has held key roles in organizations like the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN).
He is also the Managing Director of Outfitter Nepal Treks & Expedition, known for his leadership, integrity, and forward-thinking approach. Gauli believes that the time has come for competent and visionary leadership to elevate Nepal’s presence in the global mountaineering arena.

Outlining his campaign priorities, Gauli has pledged to modernize the NMA’s operations, ensure the rights and welfare of its members, and foster stronger international partnerships.
“My key priorities will be advancing the NMA to meet modern demands, ensuring members’ rights, and strengthening global coordination,” he shared in an interview with Global Online Television.
