Nepal is still a safe destination for tourism even after the major earthquake that struck the country on April 25, 2015. Various tourist destinations in the country are safe for travel despite the impact of the April disaster on the tourism sector. All the cultural and religious sites are fully intact. Old palaces in Patan and Bhaktapur, the tallest temple of Bhaktapur (5-storyed temple), Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple and other popular sites are opened for visitors from 15 June 2015.

Reconstruction works are already underway in Langtang and Manaslu trekking regions that are affected and can be expected to be complete very soon. The tourism infrastructures are intact. The hotels and teahouses are operating normally for trekkers and climbers in Annapurna and Everest regions. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal Government has officially declared that Annapurna and Everest regions are safe for trekking and climbing.
