मलेसियाको पेराक राज्यस्थित तेलुक इन्तानमा गैरकानुनी रूपमा ऋण लगानी गरेको आरोपमा दुई नेपाली नागरिक पक्राउ परेका छन्।

स्थानीय प्रहरीले सञ्चालन गरेको ‘अपरेशन भल्चर’ अन्तर्गत सेप्टेम्बर ४ मा उनीहरूलाई पक्राउ गरिएको हो। उनीहरूमाथि चर्को ब्याजमा ऋण दिने तथा ऋणीको बैंक एटीएम कार्ड आफ्नो नियन्त्रणमा राख्ने गरेको आरोप छ।

हिलिर पेराकका प्रहरी प्रमुख एसीपी चुआ कोक लियनका अनुसार कमर्सियल क्राइम इन्भेस्टिगेशन डिभिजनले सुरुमा एक जनालाई तेलुक इन्तानस्थित बैंकको एटीएमबाट रकम निकालिरहेको अवस्थामा पक्राउ गरेको थियो। उनको साथबाट अरू व्यक्तिका दुईवटा एटीएम कार्ड र ३०० मलेसियन रिंगेट नगद बरामद भएको थियो।

उनकै सूचनाका आधारमा प्रहरीले जालान आ चेङस्थित ऋण कारोबार हुने भनिएको एक स्थानमा छापा मारेको थियो। त्यसक्रममा थप एक जनालाई पक्राउ गरिएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ।

प्रहरीले उक्त स्थानबाट थप तीनवटा एटीएम कार्ड तथा सुनका गहना बरामद गरेको छ। बरामद सामग्रीको कुल मूल्य करिब २ हजार ५० रिंगेट रहेको बताइएको छ।

पक्राउ परेका दुवै जनालाई हिलिर पेराक जिल्ला प्रहरी मुख्यालयमा राखेर अनुसन्धान अघि बढाइएको थियो। उनीहरूविरुद्ध मलेसियाको दण्ड संहिताको धारा ४२० र ४२४ अन्तर्गत अनुसन्धान भइरहेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ।

प्रहरीले बैंक खाता वा एटीएम कार्ड अरूलाई प्रयोग गर्न नदिन सर्वसाधारणलाई आग्रह गरेको छ। आर्थिक लाभ वा अन्य प्रलोभनमा परेर आफ्नो बैंक खाता तथा एटीएम कार्ड अरूलाई उपलब्ध गराउँदा आपराधिक गतिविधिमा संलग्न भएको आरोपमा कानुनी कारबाही हुन सक्ने प्रहरीले चेतावनी दिएको छ।

Argentina’s Football Association has announced a special tribute to football legend Lionel Messi, with matches across the country set to pause for one minute in his honor.

According to the association, all upcoming men’s and women’s football matches, as well as futsal and beach soccer games in Argentina, will stop in the 10th minute. During the one-minute pause, players, coaches, match officials and spectators will join in a collective round of applause to recognize Messi’s contribution to Argentine football.

The 10th minute was deliberately chosen as a tribute to the No. 10 jersey Messi wore for Argentina’s national team. Stadiums equipped with large screens will also show a special video dedicated to Messi before matches begin.

The initiative highlights the deep respect Messi continues to receive from Argentina’s football community and supporters. The applause in the 10th minute is expected to become a symbolic tribute to both his iconic No. 10 shirt and his remarkable contribution to the national team.

Messi, one of the most celebrated and successful players in world football, announced on August 31 that he was ending his two-decade journey with Argentina’s national team. At the age of 39, he announced his retirement from international football, formally bringing his memorable chapter with the Argentine jersey to an end.

His decision came after the 2026 World Cup, where Argentina lost the final to Spain 1–0 in extra time. Argentina’s dream of winning the title after reaching a second consecutive World Cup final was left unfulfilled, but Messi concluded his international career with an extraordinary list of achievements.

Messi made his senior Argentina debut in 2005 and went on to make 207 appearances, scoring 125 goals for the national team. He left as Argentina’s most-capped player and its all-time leading scorer.

His international career, however, was not always smooth. During his early years, Messi faced criticism for failing to produce the same impact for Argentina that he regularly displayed at club level. Pressure intensified following Argentina’s defeats in the 2014 World Cup final and the 2015 and 2016 Copa America finals.

The flood that struck Rasuwa has caused extensive damage to both human lives and physical infrastructure, affecting private homes as well as key public facilities across the district.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, the flood has damaged residential houses, roads, bridges, schools and health facilities. Preliminary assessments show that 7,570 private houses have been affected by the disaster.

The estimated total economic loss caused by the flood stands at Rs 387.54 billion, according to the authority's initial assessment.

The disaster has also damaged 48 government structures, 18 schools and seven health institutions. The transportation network has suffered significant losses, with 55 kilometres of roads completely destroyed.

Bridges have also sustained extensive damage. Of the 37 motorable bridges, 33 have been completely destroyed. In addition, 68 suspension bridges have suffered damage.

The authority has estimated that Rs 7.15 billion will be required for the immediate recovery of the affected areas.

According to the authority, recovery efforts must now focus not only on rebuilding damaged infrastructure but also on restoring normal life for people living in the affected areas. Immediate rehabilitation and recovery measures are therefore considered necessary to help communities return to normalcy.

नेकपा एमालेका अध्यक्ष एवं पूर्वप्रधानमन्त्री केपी शर्मा ओलीले बाढीपहिरो पीडितलाई प्रत्यक्ष रूपमा राहत पुर्‍याउनु आफ्नो पार्टीको पहिलो प्राथमिकता रहेको बताएका छन्। शुक्रबार पार्टी केन्द्रीय कार्यालय च्यासलमा रसुवाका बाढीपीडितका लागि राहत सामग्री हस्तान्तरण गर्दै ओलीले सो कुरा बताएका हुन्।

सरकारी कोषमार्फत जाँदा प्रक्रियागत ढिलाइ हुने भएकाले पार्टीले सिधै पीडितको हातमा राहत पुर्‍याउने बाटो रोजेको ओलीको भनाइ थियो। उद्धार तथा प्राथमिक राहतका कामहरू सम्पन्न भएपछि अवस्था हेरेर सरकारी कोषमा पनि सहयोग गर्न सकिने उनले स्पष्ट पारे।

अध्यक्ष ओलीका अनुसार एमालेले करिब १ करोड २० लाख रुपैयाँभन्दा बढीको नगद तथा जिन्सी सामग्री आफ्नै सामर्थ्य र कार्यकर्ता परिचालनमार्फत वितरण गरिरहेको छ।

सोही क्रममा ओलीले महाविपद्को संवेदनशील घडीमा प्रविधिको दुरुपयोग गरी एआई जेनेरेटेड (AI-generated) तस्बिरको सहारामा सस्तो लोकप्रियता कमाउन खोजिएको भन्दै आलोचना समेत गरे। विपद्को बेला प्रचारमुखी नभई सेवामुखी बन्न आग्रह गर्दै उनले सबैको ध्यान उद्धार, राहत र पुनर्स्थापनामा केन्द्रित हुनुपर्नेमा जोड दिए।

रसुवामा बाढी आएको १० दिनपछि त्रिशूली–३ ‘ए’ जलविद्युत् आयोजनाको सुरुङबाट जीवितै उद्धार भएका सञ्जय साहले सुरुङभित्रको अवस्थाबारे महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी दिएका छन्।

आयोजनाको कन्ट्रोल रुममा अपरेटरका रूपमा कार्यरत साहलाई उद्धारपछि अस्पताल लैजाने क्रममा नेपाली सेनाका अधिकारीहरूले सुरुङभित्रको अवस्थाबारे संक्षिप्त जानकारी लिएका थिए।

साहका अनुसार दुर्घटना भएको समयमा सुरुङभित्र सामान्य अवस्थाभन्दा धेरै मानिस थिए। उनले कन्ट्रोल रुममा रहेकाले सबैको ज्यान जोगाउने जिम्मेवारी सम्झेर आफूले कामदारहरूलाई तत्काल बाहिर निस्कन भनेको बताए। सबैलाई बाहिर पठाउने क्रममा आफ्नो समय बितेकाले अन्तिममा आफू भने सुरुङबाट निस्कन नसकेको उनको भनाइ छ।

उनले भने, ‘ठूलो एक्सिडेन्ट भयो ड्याममा’ भन्दै सबैलाई बाहिर भाग्न लगाएको, तर त्यसो गर्दागर्दै आफू निस्कन नभ्याएर सुरुङभित्रै फसेको बताए।

साहका अनुसार सुरुङभित्र रहेका ४–५ जनासँग मात्रै आफ्नो प्रत्यक्ष सम्पर्क रहेको थियो। तर, आयोजनाको पावर हाउसतर्फ अझै केही मानिस फसेको हुन सक्ने उनको आशंका छ।

उनले सुरुङ लामो रहेको र घटनापछि पानीको फोर्स भित्रसम्म पुगेको हुन सक्ने बताए।

उद्धारपछि नेपाली सेनाका अधिकारीहरूले १० दिनपछि बाहिर निस्कन सफल हुनु दोस्रो जीवन पाउनुजस्तै भएको भन्दै साहलाई बधाइ दिएका थिए।

बाहिर आएपछि साहले आफूलाई समयबारे समेत अन्योल भएको बताए। उनले १० गते बिहान १० बजेतिर दुर्घटना भएको र कन्ट्रोल रुममा आफूहरूले समय टिपोट गर्ने गरेको स्मरण गरे।

सुरुङभित्र रहँदा आफूहरू ‘महामन्त्र ईश्वर’ जप गर्दै बसेको पनि साहले बताएका छन्।

रसुवाको भोटेकोशीमा भदौ १० गते आएको विनाशकारी बाढीपछि त्रिशूली–३ ‘ए’ जलविद्युत् आयोजनाको सुरुङभित्र फसेका दुई जनाको १० दिनपछि जीवितै उद्धार गरिएको छ।

शुक्रबार बिहान उद्धार गरिएकामा नेपाल विद्युत् प्राधिकरणका कर्मचारी सञ्जय साह र कबिर महर्जन रहेका छन्।

साह नेपाल विद्युत् प्राधिकरणका चौथो तहका कर्मचारी हुन्। मेकानिकल इन्जिनियरसमेत रहेका साह सप्तरीको कोइलाडी–८ का बासिन्दा हुन्।

त्यस्तै, कबिर महर्जन मेकानिकल सुपरभाइजरका रूपमा कार्यरत रहेको जनाइएको छ। काठमाडौंको बालकुमारी–३ स्थायी ठेगाना भएका महर्जनको पनि उद्धार गरिएको हो।

कबिरका भाइ अमिर महर्जनले सुरुङभित्र रहेका व्यक्तिहरूबाटै दाइको सकुशल उद्धार भएको जानकारी पाएको बताए।

‘उद्धार गरिएपछि हामीलाई उतैबाट फोन आएको हो,’ उनले भने, ‘उद्धारको खबर पाएपछि परिवार अत्यन्तै खुसी भएका छौं।’

दाइलाई उपचारका लागि अस्पताल लैजान लागेको खबर पाएपछि आफूहरू पनि अस्पतालतर्फ जान लागेको उनले बताए। तर, कुन अस्पतालमा लैजाने भन्नेबारे आफूहरूलाई अहिलेसम्म जानकारी नभएको उनको भनाइ छ।

नेपाल विद्युत् प्राधिकरणका अनुसार कबिर महर्जनको स्वास्थ्यमा समस्या देखिएको छ। उनलाई हाइपोटर्मिया भएको र हातखुट्टा चलाउन नसक्ने अवस्था रहेको जनाइएको छ।

लामो समयसम्म अत्यधिक चिसो वातावरणमा रहँदा शरीरको तापक्रम असामान्य रूपमा घट्ने अवस्थालाई हाइपोटर्मिया भनिन्छ। महर्जनलाई थप उपचारका लागि हेलिकप्टरमार्फत काठमाडौं ल्याइँदै छ।

बाढी तथा पहिरोबाट घरबारविहीन बनेका परिवारलाई दशैंअघि नै अस्थायी आवास उपलब्ध गराउने तयारी अघि बढाइएको छ। भूमि व्यवस्था, सहकारी तथा संघीय मामिला तथा सामान्य प्रशासनमन्त्री प्रतिभा रावलले विपद् प्रभावित नागरिकका लागि अस्थायी घर निर्माण गर्ने पहल थालेकी हुन्।

दशैं नजिकिँदै गर्दा पनि सुरक्षित आवासको अभावमा बस्न बाध्य प्रभावित परिवारलाई तत्काल राहत दिने उद्देश्यले अस्थायी घर निर्माणलाई अघि बढाउन लागिएको हो। यसका लागि स्थानीय सरकारसँग सहकार्य र समन्वय गर्ने तयारी मन्त्री रावलले गरेकी छन्।

प्रभावित क्षेत्रमा आवश्यकताअनुसार स्थान पहिचान गरी स्थानीय तहको सहभागितामा अस्थायी आवास निर्माण गर्ने योजना अघि सारिएको छ। यसबाट घर पूर्ण रूपमा क्षति भएका वा बस्न नमिल्ने अवस्थामा पुगेका परिवारलाई चाडपर्वअघि नै सुरक्षित बासको व्यवस्था गर्न सहयोग पुग्ने अपेक्षा गरिएको छ।

अस्थायी आवास निर्माणका लागि स्थानीय सरकारसँग समन्वय गर्दै वास्तविक प्रभावित परिवार पहिचान गर्ने र आवश्यकताका आधारमा प्राथमिकता निर्धारण गर्ने तयारी छ।

विपद्पछि राहत तथा उद्धारसँगै प्रभावित नागरिकको पुनर्स्थापनाको विषय पनि चुनौतीका रूपमा देखिएको छ। यस्तो अवस्थामा दशैंअघि अस्थायी घर उपलब्ध गराउने पहललाई तत्कालीन आवास समस्या समाधान गर्ने प्रयासका रूपमा हेरिएको छ।

मन्त्री रावलको पहल कार्यान्वयनमा स्थानीय तहको भूमिका महत्वपूर्ण हुने भएकाले सम्बन्धित स्थानीय सरकारसँग सहकार्य गरेर प्रक्रिया अघि बढाइने बताइएको छ।

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of global technology giant NVIDIA, has donated US$10 million (more than NPR 1.5 billion) to Nepal’s Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts following the devastating floods and landslides in the country.

The contribution is aimed at strengthening ongoing humanitarian efforts in areas affected by the recent disaster, particularly communities impacted by the Bhotekoshi floods in Rasuwa. Nepalese authorities have described the contribution as one of the largest donations received so far for the country’s disaster response.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle expressed gratitude to Huang through a video message, thanking him for the significant contribution to Nepal’s relief and recovery efforts. Wagle said the support would help communities affected by the disaster and could encourage others to contribute to the ongoing response.

According to NVIDIA, Huang founded the company in 1993 and has served as its president and chief executive officer since its inception. NVIDIA pioneered accelerated computing, while its invention of the GPU in 1999 played a major role in the development of modern computer graphics and artificial intelligence.

The donation comes as Nepal continues rescue, relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction operations following the devastating floods and landslides. The government has been mobilizing financial resources to support affected communities and rebuild damaged infrastructure.

The latest contribution has also pushed the total amount collected in Nepal’s Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to more than NPR 10 billion, according to Finance Minister Wagle.
