At 20, Jean-Philippe Mateta was still playing in France's Third Division. At 21, he was in France's Second Division. He had to leave his home country and come to Germany to consolidate his career in the First Division.
At 23, he began his Premier League adventure with Crystal Palace. And yesterday, after winning two titles in England, shining at the Olympic Games at the international level, and at the age of 28, he was called up for the first time to the French national team.
Yes, at 28, he will finally fulfill his lifelong dream: representing the French national team at the senior level. It's simply another example that it's never too late to fulfill your dreams.
