Dengue cases are rising across Bangladesh ahead of the monsoon season, with health officials warning that infections could increase further in the coming weeks.
Several regions have reported growing numbers of patients, including Barisal, which has recorded the highest caseload with 1,149 infections. Rajshahi and Khulna have also reported dengue-related deaths.
Many hospitals are still treating dengue patients in general wards due to a lack of dedicated units, raising concerns about overcrowding. Sylhet is currently the only division to have opened a special dengue treatment corner.
Health authorities have urged hospitals to strengthen preparations as the rainy season approaches and the risk of further spread increases.
