🇳🇵 Understanding Nepal’s Democratic Journey 🇳🇵

While they all celebrate freedom, Prajatantra, Loktantra, and Ganatantra Diwas mark three different turning points in Nepal’s history.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🔹 1. Prajatantra Diwas
📅 Falgun 7 / February 19
➡️ Marks the end of the 104-year Rana regime in 1951.

✨ Nepal took its first major step toward democracy and shared governance between the monarchy and the people.

🗝️ Focus: End of Rana autocracy & beginning of democratic governance.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🔹 2. Loktantra Diwas
📅 Baisakh 11 / April 24
➡️ Celebrates the success of the 2006 Jana Andolan II (People’s Movement).

✨ Citizens’ voices forced the restoration of Parliament and proved that sovereignty belongs to the people.

🗝️ Focus: People’s power defeating absolute rule and restoring democracy.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🔹 3. Ganatantra Diwas
📅 Jestha 15 / May 29
➡️ Marks Nepal becoming a Federal Democratic Republic in 2008.

✨ The monarchy officially ended, and the nation embraced a republican system led by elected representatives.

🗝️ Focus: End of monarchy & birth of a republic.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✊🇳🇵 Happy Loktantra Diwas!

Today we honor the courage of citizens who stood for freedom, dignity, and the right to be heard.

A stronger democracy is built through awareness, compassion, responsibility, and unity.

The Legacy of Minnath

Before the grand chariot of Bungadyo moves, a smaller, ancient guardian leads the way. Nestled in the heart of Tangal, Patan, the temple of Minnath stands as a testament to centuries of faith.

Deeply intertwined with the agrarian roots and spiritual identity of the valley, Minnath is a fundamental pillar of our history. 🌾🌧️

The Legend of Two Brothers

Folklore tells us that when Rato Machhindranath was brought from Assam to end a 12-year drought, Minnath was already here to assist. This established the ritual: Minnath’s chariot must always lead the way to clear the path for his "elder brother."

🔹 The Ancient Seat: Tangaliti
The Pancha Deval temple in Tangal is a masterpiece. While the pagoda is Malla-era, historians believe the site dates back to the Licchavi period (400–750 CE). Unlike Bungadyo, Minnath remains a permanent resident and guardian of Patan year-round.

🔹 Guardian of the Monsoon: 🌧️
In the past, the Minnath Jatra was a survival ritual. For the farmers of Lalitpur, a successful Jatra was a divine guarantee of a favorable monsoon and a bountiful harvest.
Through the centuries, Minnath has remained the silent observer of our city's soul—a symbol of community, rain, and the enduring spirit of Lalitpur. 🇳🇵

Poverty is the ultimate systemic failure.

It’s easy to point fingers at "corruption" as a vague monster. It’s much harder to address the structural poverty that allows it to thrive.

We don't just need "cleaner" leaders; we need a system that works for everyone so that nobody is forced—or incentivized—to bypass the rules just to survive or get ahead. Let’s shift the focus to radical economic growth and opportunity.

The Chicken, the Philosopher, and the Iron Lady 🇬🇧🍗

Ever wonder how a literal **chicken farmer** helped trigger a global political revolution? Swipe to see how it happened.

1️⃣ **The Spark (1945):** RAF pilot Antony Fisher meets economist Friedrich Hayek. Fisher wants to enter politics. Hayek’s advice? *"Don't. If you want to change the world, change the ideas first."*

2️⃣ **The Capital:** To fund the "war of ideas," Fisher needed money. He traveled to the US, learned about "broiler" chicken farming, and founded **Buxted Chickens**—the UK’s first industrial poultry giant.

3️⃣ **The Engine:** Using his "chicken fortune," Fisher founded the **IEA**—a think tank that took Hayek’s free-market theories and turned them into political blueprints.

4️⃣ **The Application (1979):** Enter **Margaret Thatcher**. She didn't just read the theories; she applied them with a sledgehammer. The IEA’s "fringe" ideas became the law of the land.
**The Lesson:** Change doesn't start at the ballot box—it starts with an idea (and sometimes a very successful poultry business). 📈🦾

Festivals of Patan: Mahalaxmi Jatra

Celebrated in Lalitpur, the sacred Mahalaxmi Jatra honors Goddess Mahalaxmi, revered as a protective mother (Ajima) of the community.

Organized by Kāyagunani Twaḥ (Ward No. 16), this vibrant festival brings the deity through the streets with traditional music, masked dances, and deep-rooted rituals.

Through generations, the community continues to preserve this living heritage—keeping Newar culture, devotion, and identity alive in every beat of the dhime and every step of the procession.

To my friends, family, and everyone who stood with me — thank you. 🙏

I received 39 votes in this election. To some it may seem small, but to me each vote represents courage, trust, and belief in a different kind of politics. I am deeply grateful to every person who believed in me and supported this journey.

To honor that trust, I will plant 10 trees for each vote — 390 trees in total. This is my way of ensuring that your vote will never go to waste.

Real change always begins with a few brave voices willing to stand up. Even outside elected office, I will continue to work for development, raise my voice for fairness and opportunity, and act as a watchdog whenever policies go against the national interest.

This is not the end — it is only the first step. 🇳🇵

The journey continues.
