JAFS 4th"Water" Photography Contest WANTED!
Theme : The world from water. Capturing the importance of water.
APPLICATION PERIOD : Monday, January 6 - Saturday, Feburary 1

[ Attraction point ]
1. The first works that passed the first round will be displayed at the "Hankyu Umeda Main Store" 9th floor plaza!
2. Photographer Kentaro Kumun will be judged!
3. All applicants will receive a pencil made by autistic people in Nepal!

Additionally, 5 winners will receive prizes and quocards (1st place 1 winner from each division total of 2 winners 10,000 yen, 2nd place 1 winner in each division total 2 winners 5,000 yen), and Audience Prize will receive 2,000 yen from those who passed the first round!
Final selection results will be announced on World Water Day (3/22) on our homepage!

😇Some glimpse of our Plantation Work Camp with 関西電力グループ (Kanden NGO Network). We are very happy to partner with 公益社団法人アジア協会アジア友の会 (Jafs Japan) to promote forest conservation in Nepal, especially in its rural areas like Bhotsipa Village. With the support of 11 volunteers from Kanden NGO Network we were able to plant 420 + trees of different varieties of local fruits and animal fodder.

☕️Besides that, we planted 75+ coffee plants whose yield will be used for income generation of farmers in Bhotsipa Village of Indrawati Rural Municipality. We are very thankful for being able to host Kanden NGO network and facilitate their philanthropic activities in Nepal.

On the 13th day of his departure from earth we pray to god for the peace of the departed soul. 🔊🚨 We're thrilled to announce the successful completion of our first Phase of Speaker Installation Training for Disaster Prevention in Ward 9, Ward 10, and Ward 11 Indrawati Rural Municaplity Secondary schools 🚨🔊

An informative workshop conducted to disseminate life-saving information during emergencies.

In 2024, from April 29th to May 2nd, 2 Disaster Prevention Association members, 1 engineer, 1 electrician, and Schools representatives came together for an invaluable learning experience. Under the guidance of esteemed Japanese expert, Mr. Hatanaka, an Electronic Engineer, participants, learned the speaker and amplifier installation and its technical process with essential skills in setting up speakers for disaster alerts and communication.

A big thank you to all participants for your dedication and enthusiasm in learning disaster prevention equipment based skills.

🚨🔊In the first phase, we aimed to install one speaker in each ward, total in 12 ward schools. Furthermore, Second phase of our Speaker Installation for Disaster Prevention training still remains tuned. 🚨🔊

🌟 Second Phase: Nutrition Feasibility Study🌟

JAFS with AFS Asian Friendship Society- carried out the feasibility study on finding out the nutrition status in people of all age in Indrawati Rural Municipality Ward 10.

On April 20th to April 22nd, we worked to gather crucial data to enhance the health and well-being of local people in the Bhotsipa Ward 10 community. Therefore, we're thrilled to announce the successful completion of the 2nd phase of our Nutrition Feasibility Study in collaboration with the Central Department Of Home Science, Shree Chandeswori Madhyamik Bidyalaya and Bhotsipa Health Post.

Through rigorous assessments and dedicated efforts, we're one step closer to understanding the nutritional landscape and crafting targeted interventions for a Bhotsipa, Indrawati Rural Municipality.

Disaster Prevention:The community center inauguration and handover ceremony in Indrawati Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchok.

We were thrilled to witness the vibrant spirit of community coming together at the recent community center inauguration and handover ceremony in Sindhupalchok🏡

🇯🇵🇳🇵During the first year, under the Eco Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) project, JAFS with implementing partner AFS, completed the construction of the community center . The community centre will be the center hub for the Indrawati Rural Municipality that aims to enhance disaster prevention capabilities in the Rural Municipality.

The main objective of setting up a community center is to unite for collective action, finding shared solutions for disaster prevention, and promoting overall community welfare through mutual assistance. This involves forming disaster prevention committees, organizing diverse activities, facilitating public broadcasting, warehouses, and implementing measures to prevent landslides.

🇯🇵🇳🇵Japan Asian Association and Asian friendship Society (JAFS) 公益社団法人アジア協会アジア友の会 with the support of the Japan Government Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Embassy of Japan in Nepal has handed over a Community Center for Disaster Prevention to Indrawati Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk District. The community center inauguration and handover ceremony was carried out in the presence of Honourable His Excellency Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Mr. Kikuta Yutaka, along with Mr. Katsuhiro Shinohara, JAFS President, and Mr. Watanabe Haruhiko, Mr. Tadashi Matsubara, Board of Directors JAFS and local representatives from the Indrawati Rural Municipality.

Together with the participation of local peoples, fostering partnerships to empower local initiatives, we celebrated the successful opening and handover ceremony, marking a new chapter in Sindhupalchok's journey towards prosperity and resilience. 🎉
