The latest temperature analysis for Kathmandu Metropolitan City reveals some striking trends. While the overall seasonal pattern remains familiar, 2025 brought notable deviations from historical averages (1991–2020).
✅ January stood out with an unusually warm spike of +5.4°C above the norm, signaling a significant winter anomaly.
✅ April, on the other hand, was cooler than expected, dipping -2.5°C below the historical mean.
☀️ Summer months (June–September) stayed relatively stable within the expected range, while late-year temperatures leaned slightly warmer but remained within historical variability.
These shifts highlight growing temperature variability, which could impact agriculture, energy demand and urban planning. Understanding these changes is crucial for building climate resilience in our cities.
