Founder of Midlaj Group, my business journey began in 2016 with manufacturing Fiber Glass Screen Protectors using laser machines from China. Since I was only 15 years old and couldnโt legally register the business, it was under my brotherโs name, but I independently managed imports, production and marketing. Later, I handed over the business to my brother as I shifted focus to other ventures. My j
ourney as Midlaj Group began in December 2018 when I got my citizenship with a vision to turn ideas into reality. Between December 2018 and 2020, I tried several businesses that were not profit-making. These included Indo Appliances, a home appliances venture in India where I imported samples but faced challenges in marketing; Khadi Natural, a natural cosmetics brand from India where stricter labeling laws in Nepal limited its potential despite efforts at private labeling; and Silk Plaster, a decorative wall finish from a European manufacturer where NPR 7 lakh worth of products did not gain expected traction in the Nepalgunj market due to high rates compared to wallpapers and paints. Ultimately, I used the Silk Plaster products in my home and office. I have a passion to try and never lose hope in business. In 2020, at the age of 19, I transitioned to trading by importing Amul Dairy products from India, including butter, cheese and shakes until in April 2022, Nepal imposed a ban on the import of certain luxury items including dairy products. At the age of 22, I achieved a major milestone by starting international plywood exports under Midlaj Plywood, which is legally registered as Midlaj Industries Private Limited and part of Midlaj Group. This IAF-approved ISO 9001:2015 certified company is a first-generation business I legally established. Known for crafting high-quality Plywood, Block Boards, Flush Doors and Core Veneers. Midlaj Plywood creates local jobs for approximately 50โ55 people, a workforce more than double my age, reflecting my commitment to creating opportunities and supporting the local community. By using my fatherโs 36-year-old contract and real estate business name under Midlaj Group, we have added value through his goodwill, helping build a strong foundation for growth. Beyond business, I create video content to share knowledge on social media and dream of launching the Midlaj Foundation to feed food to the hungry. This journey is about staying grounded, overcoming challenges and establishing Midlaj Group as a trusted name that makes a positive impact.
