This is how the mismanagement from government 🇱🇰 let the entire nation and 2.5 crores Lankan suffer😰:

•Imported more than they export
•Spend more than they earns

It lead the nation towards trade & budget deficit
Instead of narrowing down the deficit,country expanded it's debt...now the Debt to GDB ratio 111% i.e. Srilanka owes more & more than it produces

Asian Development bank had already flagged the problem back in 2019 stating the country's national expenditure exceeds national income i.e production of tradable goods and services is inadequate.

Same year Gotabaya Rajapakchhya was campaigning for presidential election,promises deep tax cuts won the election.....he won reduced the tax which downgraded countries economy to near default level.....investors left the country and it became difficult for Srilanka 🇱🇰 to access international market.

Then another mistakes from Gotabaya banning the use of chemical fertilizers in the name of "Good for Health"....it was actually a tactics to saving foreign reserves banning the import of chemical fertilizers.

Agricultural production then fell by 50%
•Around June 2021-Srilanka was forced to import rice
•July 2021-Srilanka banned the import of luxury goods.....country was scrumbling to save dollars

Wuhan virus arrived.....border got closed....tourist stopped completely arriving Srilanka.....which depends upon 13% tourism of countries GDP

•2020-173,000 tourists
•2018 -2.3 millions.....by2021 srilanka tourism revenue drops down to $2.8 Billions

Lankan stopped sending remitance money after the pandemic....by the late 2021 revenue from tax dropped

•Agricultural production fallen which was 8% of GDP
•Revenue from tourism fallen
•Remittances fallen
•Foreign investor stopped sending money to Srilanka....on Jun 2021 Bangladesh loaned $200 Miilions.....on Feb 2022 India loaned $500 million dollar to pay for oil

Srilanka couldn't sustain.....on March 2022 president Gotabaya devalued srilankan rupees....idea was to encourage remittance and qualify for a loan from IMF(International Monitary Fund) as lankan rupee plunged against the dollar people's purchasing power took a plunged too

Today 1$=326 Srilankan Rupee
•Currency has plunged 32% since the beginning of thia year
•Inflation upto 30.2%
2019 Coconut- 50 lankan rupee
2022 Coconut- 91 lankan rupee

2019 Onion/Kg- 80 Lankan Rupee

Price of rice increased by 93%...chicken by 55% & lentils by 117%

•Soaring inflation
•Bleeding foreign reserves
•Huge piles of debt
•Tanking currency

Srilanka currently has less than 1.94$ billions by this march…………$8.6 Billions debt payment due in 2022....was supposed to pay $78.2 billions interest payment dued on 18th of April 2022...$20 Millions now they need for essential imports for food and fuels.

Professional soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodríguez, announced the death of their newborn son in a joint statement posted Monday on social media.

"It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away," Ronaldo and Rodríguez wrote on Twitter on Monday. "It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel."

The birth of their baby girl, the twin of their deceased baby boy, gives them the strength to live with "some hope and happiness," Ronaldo and Rodríguez wrote. The pair did not share a cause of death.

In October, Ronaldo and Rodríguez announced on social media they were expecting twins.

"Our baby boy, you are our angel," they wrote in the statement on Monday. "We will always love you."

Child mortality remains a global concern.

"The total number of under-5 deaths worldwide has declined from 12.6 million in 1990 to 5.0 million in 2020," the World Health Organization reports. "Since 1990, the global under-5 mortality rate has dropped by 60%, from 93 deaths per 1,000 live births in 1990 to 37 in 2020. This is equivalent to 1 in 11 children dying before reaching age 5 in 1990, compared to 1 in 27 in 2020."

The United States' infant mortality (death before age 1) rate was 5.6 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2019, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
