In a world overflowing with AI content, this story was made the slow, human way.

By hand, with heart and a whole lot of the spirit you will find in the the West Coast of New Zealand.

Spirit of the West is a short documentary about grit, resilience and the unshakable spirit of a West Coast community. It's a film about real people, wild places, and what we find when we go off the edge of the map.

We're stoked to announce it’s been officially selected for the New Zealand Mountain Film Festival, taking home taking home not one but three selection/awards:

– Official Selection

– Community Spirit Award

– National Tour Selection

The World Premiere is happening in Wanaka at the festival Sun June 22nd, 3pm (Session 6)

🎥 Capturing authentic stories is never just about the camera — it’s about trust.
Through this project for the NZFAP and NZFAP Plus programmes, we had the privilege of filming incredible farmers and sharing how these initiatives are making a real difference on the ground.
Our focus was on creating an environment where people felt at ease to speak openly and naturally. Their passion and pride shine through — and it’s a reminder of how powerful a simple, well-told story can be.
