INTRODUCING 4️⃣0️⃣🔥
“Sauce40”, recently known as “Y3K$”, is an up and coming artist from a small town called Huntly, located in Waikato, New Zealand.
His name is derived from, ‘Sauce’ meaning his drip style, while ‘40’ represents his day-one childhood crew. Sauce40 found his passion for music in his 11th-grade music class where with the help of his music teacher and a few friends, they paved a new way in his local community for people to get into music. From headlining local sellout shows to opening for international acts, Sauce40 recently signed a record deal with None Entertainment and moved to Auckland to pursue his music career.
His debut single, “Eight” is due to be featured on the mixtape “Who’s The Livest”, released by FlexxLive, lifetime DJ for 42Dugg, who is currently jointly signed to Lil Baby and Yo Gotti’s respective labels.
With “Eight”, Sauce40 delivers a powerful statement to the listener combining his cadence and flow effortlessly to ride the beat. Production on this track has come from NextWavez, a New Zealander signed to DJ Mustard’s “10Summers” production label, with mixing and mastering done by multi-platinum and grammy award winning engineer, David Yungin Kim.
Speaking about the song, Sauce40 explains that “Eight is about leaving behind my old ways and risking it all for something bigger than I could ever imagine.” His motivation to grasp the opportunity in front of him when he was signed is evident in the lyrics all over this track. “I wanted to just acknowledge my team and talk my s**t. I’m paying homage to the key people that helped me out of the trap. I’ve made it out of a really small town in the north Waikato where only around 8000 people live, I got signed and now I’m getting a hold of more and more opportunities. How could I not do anything but go 150%?!”
Eight is an energetic, hard hitting, aggressive but extremely motivational song. Sauce40 brings together just the right amount of grit and angst to bring the listener into his world, where he’s on a journey to reaching his goals.
