𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨?
Client yesterday:
"𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘐 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮."
Here's why your brain sabotages you (even when you consciously want to succeed):
🛡️ 𝙁𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨
Success means visibility.
Higher expectations.
More responsibility.
Your unconscious mind thinks:
"𝘐𝘧 𝘐 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘦𝘥, 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵?"
🪪 𝙄𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣
If you see yourself as "not tech-savvy," successfully implementing automation threatens that identity.
Your mind prefers familiar dysfunction over unfamiliar competence.

Self-sabotage has hidden benefits:
Gets sympathy ("I'm struggling so much")
Avoids responsibility ("I tried but it didn't work")
Justifies staying small ("Nothing works for me")
😰 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘼𝙣𝙭𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙮
"If I don't finish it, no one can judge it."
Incomplete work can't be criticised.
Safer to be "almost done" than done and potentially judged.
💭 𝙐𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙛𝙨
"I don't deserve success"
"Success requires sacrificing what I value"
"If I succeed, I'll lose connection with others"
The pattern isn't logical - that's why logic doesn't fix it.
It's emotional and unconscious.
Which is why traditional business coaching fails and shadow work succeeds.
Your sabotage isn't a character flaw.
🧠...Your brain is running a complex risk assessment every time success becomes possible.
It's not just fear of failure - it's fear of everything that comes WITH success.
It's an outdated protection system.
