I have to admit something, I am sitting on a podcast and not hitting publish 😱
I’ve been creating it for the last couple of months, but I keep trying to get it to a point where I have enough content to carry me through incase I get too busy to make new episodes ( ).
On one hand, that’s very smart, and I always tell clients to batch record for this purpose — but on the other hand, it’s stopping me from progressing.
I have always been challenged by my perfectionist tendencies, and whether this is me being a perfectionist or just me trying to be overly prepared, I’m not sure.
What I do know though is that I have done enough to hit publish. I have got to the 70% mark.
The 70% Rule is something I recently came across. It encourages action over waiting for perfection by suggesting you move forward when a project or task is about 70% complete, trusting that improvement can come later.
Funny thing is, I totally agree! Even though I get trapped striving for 100% more often than I’d like to admit.
So here I am publicly telling myself to HIT PUBLISH on the podcast! If you’d like to support me on this journey, go follow 🌊
This is also your gentle reminder that perfect is not productive (says the recovering perfectionist). If you have a podcast, project or idea that is at the 70% mark, I urge you to put it out there.
Create momentum, get feedback, learn, grow, and adjust as you go 🫶🏼
