I have to admit something, I am sitting on a podcast and not hitting publish 😱

I’ve been creating it for the last couple of months, but I keep trying to get it to a point where I have enough content to carry me through incase I get too busy to make new episodes ( ).

On one hand, that’s very smart, and I always tell clients to batch record for this purpose — but on the other hand, it’s stopping me from progressing.

I have always been challenged by my perfectionist tendencies, and whether this is me being a perfectionist or just me trying to be overly prepared, I’m not sure.

What I do know though is that I have done enough to hit publish. I have got to the 70% mark.

The 70% Rule is something I recently came across. It encourages action over waiting for perfection by suggesting you move forward when a project or task is about 70% complete, trusting that improvement can come later.

Funny thing is, I totally agree! Even though I get trapped striving for 100% more often than I’d like to admit.

So here I am publicly telling myself to HIT PUBLISH on the podcast! If you’d like to support me on this journey, go follow 🌊

This is also your gentle reminder that perfect is not productive (says the recovering perfectionist). If you have a podcast, project or idea that is at the 70% mark, I urge you to put it out there.

Create momentum, get feedback, learn, grow, and adjust as you go 🫶🏼

You know that feeling when you hear just a few notes and instantly know what show or brand it is?

That’s the power of audio branding, and it starts with your podcast jingle 🎶

A great jingle doesn’t need lyrics. Sometimes just a few signature sounds can do all the heavy lifting, creating instant recognition and setting the mood before you say a word.

But what’s the difference between a custom made jingle and a generic track?

One tells your story. The other tells… everyone’s.

If you want your podcast to sound as good as it looks, I can help. I create one-of-a-kind jingles designed to reflect your style, tone, and message.

Want to hear how it could work for your show?

Comment “jingle” or DM me — I’ll send you more info and offer a free consultation if you’d like to chat.

Your podcast intro, outro + trailer might be short… but they’re essential.

They set the tone for your show, make it sound polished and professional, and help new listeners know exactly what you’re all about.

If you’re a new client of mine, these are the first things we create together to get your podcast ready for launch 🚀

Save this for later if you’re planning to start a podcast!

P.s. I used Canvas ‘Magic Media’ AI tool to create the background image for these slides. It was so much easier than scrolling for ages trying to find an image I like. Don’t know about you but I am a bit of a perfectionist and can waste so much time doing that 😅

Here’s how I protect my capacity and the quality of your podcast…

As a podcast editor and new mum, my days don’t always go to plan. Our sleep changes. My baby’s needs change. And let’s be real, my best changes too.

So here’s what I can’t do right now:
⚡️ Last-minute edits
⚡️ 24-hour turnarounds
⚡️ Rush jobs

But here’s what I can do, and do really well:
✅ Deliver polished, professional episodes
✅ With all the right cuts, sound levels, music, and love
✅ Ready well before your go-live date

That’s why I ask all my lovely clients to send through their raw recordings 2 weeks in advance. It means there’s time for thoughtful edits, final approvals, and if needed — space to make any changes without panic.

Of course there are sometimes exceptions, but this boundary protects my capacity as a mum and it protects the quality of your podcast.

I’m so grateful to work with people who get that ❤️

You might think editing is just about cutting out “ums” and awkward pauses…

But a good podcast editor does so much more behind the scenes to make your show sound polished and professional.

Here are 5 things a podcast editor can do that you might not even realise 👆

This is a bit of a vulnerable one…

To all the mamas out there—whether you’re running a business, working a 9–5, parenting full-time, or juggling a bit of everything—I finally see you, hear you, and understand you. Because I’m now on this journey too. Happy (belated) NZ Mother’s Day 💐

This year is my first celebrating as a mum, and wow—what a ride it’s been so far. Stepping back into work, even just part-time, has been great for my creativity and a sense of normality, but also more challenging than I expected. I definitely underestimated just how much life and I would shift after becoming a mother.

I’m learning to embrace the changes, to welcome the evolving version of myself, and to hold space for both the magical and messy moments. Some days I feel powerful, like I can do it all—other days I feel anxious, I feel mum guilt, and I move at a much slower pace than I ever have before.

We recently transitioned Willow from her bassinet to a cot, and it actually made me so sad. Time seems to be going by in a blink! Did anyone else experience this kind of silent grieving? It made me realise how important it is to soak up every moment with her each day, even as I find my rhythm again with work.

All the fellow mamas out there navigating your own version of this—you’re doing an incredible job. Let’s keep cheering each other on, in whatever season we’re in 💖

There’s a lot of noise out there about what it takes to start and grow a podcast — but not all of it is true.

Swipe through to bust some of the most common myths I hear (and maybe even believed myself at one point!).

Throughout my pregnancy, I found myself turning to podcasts not just for information, but for comfort, reassurance, and a sense of connection.

Some episodes gave me practical tips and helped me prepare mentally and physically for birth. Others soothed my anxious mind when things felt overwhelming. And then there were the beautiful birth stories—raw, honest, and full of heart—that reminded me I wasn’t alone.

In this post, I’m sharing the podcasts that supported me the most—whether you’re pregnant now, planning for the future, or simply curious, I hope you find something helpful in here too.

If you’ve got any podcast recs of your own, I’d love to hear them. Postpartum and parenting welcome! Share in the comments or flick me a DM 🙏🏼🩷

I’M BACK!!! 🤗

After a few months on maternity leave I feel ready to dip my toes back into work part-time. Motherhood is absolutely the best job I’ve ever done, but this mama now needs a little somethin’ somethin’ to keep her mind active.

At the end of last year I was working with so many amazing podcasters — a whole bunch of you plus potential new clients put your name on the waitlist for 2025. This week I will be reaching out to everyone and hopefully get the chance to work on some amazing podcasts again 🎙️Keep your eyes peeled in your inboxes.

Goodbye for Now 🎙️ Signing Off for Maternity Leave and the Holidays ✨💖

With the silly season and babies due date fast approaching, it’s time for me to hit pause on my work to prepare for my next big adventure—motherhood.

To my incredible podcast community and clients, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your trust, support, and inspiration. I’ve truly loved every second of working on your podcasts this year. Helping you bring your stories and expertise to life has been such a joy. I’ve learned so much from your amazing content and feel so grateful for the genuine connections we’ve built through this work.

While I’m beyond excited to step into this new role as a mum, I’m equally excited to return to podcasting in 2025 when the time is right. If you’d like to work together next year, you can join the waitlist for podcasting services by clicking the link in my bio and filling out your details. I’ll be in touch in Q2!

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and holiday season filled with love, rest, and joy. Thank you for making this year so special. I can’t wait to connect again in the future.

See you in 2025! 🌞
