NEW BLOG 📝

Buying a DJI Enterprise drone is the easy part. Building a drone programme you can actually rely on is where most reseller relationships start to show their cracks.

We've been flying commercially since 2001, and along the way we've logged more than 19,000 flights. That track record runs through everything we do: DJI Enterprise sales, DJI Dock deployment run by our own certified Dock Engineer, and a Remote Operations Centre we operate ourselves, right here in New Zealand.

Most drone programmes don't fail on day one. They fail eighteen months in: nobody's watching the fleet, operator competency has slipped, and the audits, SOPs and governance that were meant to catch it were never actually in place

Our latest article walks through what actually separates a reseller from a genuine DJI Enterprise partner, and what surveying, construction, utilities, security and agriculture teams should be asking before they choose a supplier.

If your drone programme needs to still be working in year four, this one's worth a read. 👇

Choosing a DJI Enterprise reseller is about far more than price. Learn what to look for when investing in commercial drone technology.

How to be a prime person

So you want to be a prime person? It’s a rewarding position which gives you the opportunity to provide safety leadership and add value to the business.

But it’s not for the faint-hearted.

The role cannot be underestimated and requires commitment to the continual improvement of safety, and commitment to the time it takes to do that properly.

The role

The safety-critical role of a prime person is pivotal to a Part 102 unmanned aircraft organisation’s success.

It’s also a requirement of the civil aviation rules. An organisation cannot become the holder of a Part 102 unmanned aircraft operator certificate without a prime person in place.

A prime person is responsible for all the functions associated with an operation, and they foster the safety culture of the organisation. They exercise an appropriate level of control, direction, and responsibility to ensure the continued safety, and effective running, of the operation.

A prime person may have several employees to assist them to do the work, but they remain responsible for ensuring the work is done and done right.

What an incredible day at the Incredible Group UAV Expo at Eden Park!

We had an outstanding turnout, with over 100 attendees joining us to explore the future of UAV technology in New Zealand.

Throughout the day, we covered a wide range of areas across the UAV landscape, including commercial drone operations, compliance, risk management, drone-in-a-box systems, industrial inspections, exterior cleaning drones, logistics, automation, and where this technology is heading next.

A huge thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to attend, ask questions, and engage with the technology on display.

We’d also like to thank our partners DJI, Lucid Bots, Inc. SPS Automation LTD FlyFreely, Rothbury Insurance Brokers, Highr Group, Flyability presenters, and the wider Incredible Group team for helping make the day such a success.

The UAV industry is moving quickly, and it was great to see so much interest from businesses looking to understand how drone technology can be used safely, legally, and commercially.

If you’d like to know more about UAV technology, commercial drone operations, or how drones could fit into your organisation, please reach out to the team at Incredible Group.

Exciting times ahead.
