Proverbs 18:21
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
This verse emphasizes the immense power of words. Our speech can bring life—encouragement, healing, wisdom, and blessings—or death—destruction, discouragement, lies, and harm.
•“The tongue has the power of life and death” → Words can uplift, inspire, and strengthen relationships, but they can also wound, tear down, and even destroy lives.
•“Those who love it will eat its fruit” → What we say has consequences. If we speak wisely and kindly, we will reap positive results. If we speak recklessly and negatively, we will face the consequences of those words.
This verse is a reminder to be mindful of how we use our words because they shape our lives and the lives of those around us.
