Following two years of filming, 'Dare to Be Different' premieres on SKY Sport 3, 7.00 pm, Sunday, November 30.

It's been 20 years since Michael Campbell held off the great Tiger Woods (and others) to claim his epic 2005 US Open. We reminisce with Cambo on that memorable victory, his path to Pinehurst No.2, and life after being crowned a Major winner.

We also hear from family, friends, and fellow golfing greats Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, and Colin Montgomerie, as well as Kiwi golf icons Philip Tataurangi, Steven Alker, Greg Turner, and Steve Williams.

DARE TO BE DIFFERENT, 7.00PM, SKY SPORT 3, NOVEMBER 30

It's been 20 years since Michael held off Tiger Woods (and others) to claim his epic 2005 US Open. We reminisce with Cambo on that memorable victory, his path to Pinehurst No.2, and life after being crowned a major winner.

The Sports Inc. crew have filmed for two years, including visits to the USA, Scotland, and Spain. The supporting cast includes many greats of the game, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Colin Montgomerie and New Zealand golfing icons Sir Bob Charles, Greg Turner, Phillip Tataurangi, Steve Williams ...plus many more.

The film provides a fascinating insight into one of New Zealand's sporting heroes.

Dare to Be Different premieres at 7.00pm ,SKY Sport 3, on Sunday, November 30. The film will also air free-to-air on SKY Open at 7.30pm on Saturday, December 6. It will also feature on Air New Zealand's inflight entertainment.

It's Masters week!....Par 3 Contest

The Par 3 contest has been part of the Masters' tradition since 1960.

It's a relaxed day when the players can invite family or friends to caddie for them on Augusta National's nine-hole layout, immediately adjacent to the famous championship course.

While not at Augusta this year, Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox has shared the Par 3 tradition with his family the last two years. In 2023, Ryan's father Grant was on the bag, while last year, Ryan was able to share the occasion with his wife Anneke and daughters Isabel and Margot.

Sports Inc. tagged along for the occasion with Ryan and family.

One of Sport Inc.’s favourite events to cover is the Ford Ranger NZ Rural Games.

This year was the event’s 10th anniversary and 40,000+ ascended on the Palmerston North Square for a fun weekend!

DARE TO BE DIFFERENT…..

…..is the name of Sports Inc.’s documentary celebrating the 20th anniversary of Michael Campbell’s epic 2005 US Open victory.

Filming continued this week at beautiful Millbrook Resort as we caught up with Kiwi ‘golfing royalty’ on the eve of the NZ Open.

Michael’s win is the stuff of sporting folklore, so it was special to get the thoughts of those so knowledgeable about the sport and Cambo’s heroics.

There was lots of emotion, a few tears, plenty of laughs, and several stories that haven’t been heard before!

We can’t wait to share the doco this July on Sky Sport.

THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND.

When many reflect on Bay of Plenty’s epic Ranfurly Shield win against Auckland in 2004, the name Wayne Ormond is the stuff of folklore.

The inspirational skipper led from the front throughout the 2004 season. He captured the sporting public’s imagination, so much so that he was finalist for the Halberg Sportsman of the year!
