Did you know that ants are usually the culprits behind mealies and aphids on your plants?
They actually farm them for their sweet honeydew.
If you bring home a new plant with hidden pests — they love to hide in the soil and in spots you can’t see — the ants will find them.
Then they’ll carry them to ALL of your flowering plants just to get that honeydew.
So watch out for ants! If you see them, they’re probably hiding something.
Always check your plants!

Today I’m showing you how to hand pollinate succulents. This is my second attempt after a successful self-pollination with Echeveria Laui.
For this cross, I’m using a species as the pollen parent: Pachyphytum oviferum 'Moonstone'.
And the seed parent is a hybrid: Pachyveria 'Cherry'.
She was sold to me as Echeveria 'Cherry', but flower shape is the best way to ID them. These bell-shaped flowers confirm she’s a Pachyveria — a hybrid of Echeveria and Pachyphytum. Time for a new name tag!

I’ve noticed some blackening leaves on one side of both my Echeveria Monroe heads. I’m trying to save them before the black spot or fungus spreads everywhere. I’m just glad it hasn’t destroyed the whole stem of one head yet.
