Sanjay Dutt Returned ₹72 Crore Inheritance from Terminally Ill Fan

Sanjay Dutt recently shared a remarkable story: he was once left property worth ₹72 crore by a terminally ill fan — and he gave it all back.

In an interview with Curly Tales, the actor recalled the 2018 incident involving Nisha Patil, a devoted 62-year-old fan who had instructed her bank to transfer her entire estate to him after her death. “I returned it to her family,” Sanjay said.

A Look Back
Sanjay Dutt made his Bollywood debut in 1981 with Rocky and went on to star in iconic films like Naam, Saajan, Khal Nayak, Vaastav, and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.. His journey has seen both major successes and personal setbacks, including a five-year prison term linked to the 1993 Bombay blasts case.

This year, he appeared in Bhootnii and Housefull 5, and will next be seen in the Telugu film Akhanda 2, alongside Balakrishna, set to release on September 25.

Man Found Asleep in Allegedly Stolen Car at McDonald’s, Arrested by Police

A man has been arrested after he was found asleep in an allegedly stolen Toyota Landcruiser parked at a McDonald’s in Southbank, Melbourne.

Victoria Police were alerted around 1:30am on Sunday after the vehicle was seen driving through Melton. Officers tracked the Landcruiser as it travelled east through several suburbs including Thomastown, Preston, Thornbury, and Fitzroy, eventually reaching the CBD.

The vehicle stopped at a McDonald’s on City Rd, where the driver entered the restaurant. A 30-year-old passenger, who was asleep in the back seat, was arrested at the scene. The driver fled and remains at large.

Police confirmed the Landcruiser was reported stolen from Balaclava on July 20. The arrested man, who has no fixed address, is yet to be formally interviewed.

War of Words Escalates Between NFP and FLP Leaders

Tensions have flared between the National Federation Party (NFP) and the Fiji Labour Party (FLP), as NFP President Parmod Chand launched a scathing attack on FLP Leader Mahendra Chaudhry, labelling him a “disgraced politician” who targets NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad out of resentment for his “remarkable achievements.”

Speaking at the NFP Working Committee Meeting in Ba, Chand dismissed allegations of unfulfilled promises as “delusional and baseless.” He clarified that the NFP never made campaign promises or released a formal manifesto — instead, it shared a Vision Document outlining long-term aspirations for Fiji.

Chand accused Chaudhry of “hallucinating” and being “small-minded” for misinterpreting their intentions. He claimed that while the majority of Fijians have welcomed the 2025/2026 National Budget, Chaudhry’s opposition comes as no surprise.

Chand also criticised Chaudhry’s recent comments targeting the U.S. Embassy’s support for the Fijian Media Association’s Townhall Forums, accusing him of irresponsibly linking the initiative to government-funded public broadcasting grants and undermining media independence.

Turning up the rhetoric, Chand said, “I will now use the same fishhook on him — those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. A convicted criminal cannot hold others to account when he himself remains unaccountable.”

He reaffirmed that NFP Leader and Deputy Prime Minister Biman Prasad will continue to act in Fiji’s best interests, placing national progress above political distractions.

In a swift and sharp response, FLP Leader Mahendra Chaudhry fired back, calling Chand “intellectually barren and bankrupt.” He claimed Chand is merely a “puppet” in NFP’s Working Committee meetings, reading speeches allegedly written by a media figure close to the party.

Chaudhry accused the NFP of obsessing over him, citing repeated personal attacks during recent meetings, including one in Malaqereqere, Sigatoka. He called Chand’s remarks “false, defamatory, malicious, and inciteful” and confirmed he has referred the matter to his legal counsel for further action.

He further challenged the NFP to address the findings of the Commission of Inquiry report, hinting at unresolved accountability issues.

This latest exchange marks a new low in political hostilities, highlighting the ongoing friction between the two veteran leaders and their respective parties.

Indian-Origin Man Survives Brutal Machete Attack in Melbourne

Saurabh Anand, a 33-year-old man of Indian origin, has shared his harrowing experience after surviving a violent machete attack by a group of teenagers in Melbourne.

The incident occurred around 7:30 PM on July 19, as Anand was walking home after collecting medication from a pharmacy at Central Square Shopping Centre in Altona Meadows. While talking to a friend on the phone, he was ambushed by five teenagers.

“I didn’t hear anything—within seconds, I was surrounded,” Anand recounted.

The assault escalated quickly. One teen began rifling through his pockets, another punched him in the head, and a third pulled out a machete, pressing it to his throat.

“In a split-second reaction, I raised my arm to protect my face,” Anand said. “The machete went straight through my wrist. Then through my hand. The third strike shattered the bone.”

He sustained severe injuries: deep wounds to his shoulder and back, a fractured spine, head trauma, and multiple broken bones. His hand was left barely attached.

“All I remember is the pain… my hand was hanging by a thread,” he recalled. “I was half-conscious, just tumbling and trying to stay awake.”

Despite the brutal attack, Anand managed to stumble away and call for help. “I saw someone and screamed, ‘I’ve been attacked. Please help me.’”

Passersby immediately alerted emergency services. Anand was rushed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he continues to recover from his life-threatening injuries.
