This week, I attended the AWS cloud day in Auckland, which was inspiring.

I had the opportunity to see some of the tech strategy from a number of AWS clients, two jumping to mind are Air NZ and Kiwibank.

Here are three core takeaways and technology trends:

1. I learned about the significant cost savings that can come with new technology and cloud offerings. This underscores the importance of regularly reviewing IT needs and strategies.
2. When developing an AI strategy, it's important not to rush the process. AI is fast-changing, so it's crucial to keep the strategy fluid. In my view, process mapping and improvement are essential steps before finalising an AI strategy. This provides a chance to review customer touch points and journeys before too much automation is implemented, ensuring a full view of the customer experience.
3. There is a trend away from centralising ERP systems and towards integrating specialist apps that can do the job better. This shift recognises the need for flexibility and more customisation in today's fast-paced business environment.

Yesterday I attended the AWS cloud day in Auckland which was inspiring to hear from AirNZ and Kiwibank just to name a few AWS clients.

Some interesting messages and technology trends. One was the potential cost savings from new tech and cloud offerings. Hence the importance of reviewing the IT strategy.

Plus don’t rush the AI strategy development. It’s fast changing so keep it fluid.

A trend away from centralised ERP systems towards integrating specialist apps that can do the job better.

Creating the AI strategy was an interesting talking point.

What stress is under the hood?

We often don't understand our own nervous system's level of stress. This week a client who owns multiple businesses had a big wake-up call. It wasn’t a heart attack or cancer, although it could have been in the future.

We used the HeartQuest machine, which gives solid evidence of his heart rate variability (HRV) and stress levels, to examine why he had felt stressed and flat for some time. It didn't paint a pretty picture which was a big wake-up call.

The good news is it's much better to address this before it becomes a more serious health condition.
